Europe Top-16 Cup 2026 (also known as the 2026 CCB Europe Top 16 Cup after its main sponsor) is a table tennis event that will take place from 5–8 February 2026 in Montreux, Switzerland. It is organised by Swiss Table Tennis (the Swiss Table Tennis Federation) and the local organising committee (LOC) under the supervision of the European Table Tennis Union (ETTU). This will be the 55th edition of the Europe Top 16 Cup series, and the tournament will be held in Switzerland for the tenth time.
The prize money for the event is €125,000.
The competition will be held in the Men’s Singles and Women’s Singles events.
In 2026, the CCB Europe Top16 Cup Montreux will once again serve as a qualification stage for the ITTF Men’s and Women’s World Cup Macao 2026, which will take place from 30 March to 5 April 2026 in Macau. The semifinalists (4 men and 4 women) will qualify directly.
Qualification for the tournament
For the CCB Europe Top 16 2026 Cup, 22 players per gender will be selected.
- The current European Champion;
- The winner of the previous TOP 16 Cup
- The top 19 players from the latest ETTU European ranking list (December 2024), published on 6 December 2024, excluding the current European Champion and the winner of the previous TOP 16 Cup, or the top 20 players if a player from the host association has qualified.
- If no player from the host association qualifies, the host association must nominate one player from the host association for each gender
Replacements
Replacements before the registration closing date must be made in accordance with registration rules and based on the European ranking available as of 05.12.2025 (December 2025 ranking).
- if the European Champion is unavailable or withdraws, he/she will be replaced by the highest-ranked remaining player from the European ranking;
- if the host association player is unavailable or withdraws, he/she will be replaced by another player nominated by the host association;
- if any other player is unavailable or withdraws, he/she will be replaced by the highest-ranked remaining player
Playing system
The CCB Europe Top 16 2026 Cup again uses the innovative new format introduced in 2025:
- Thursday: qualification rounds for players ranked 15–21 in the ETTU ranking, plus one Swiss player. Two winners of the second round advance to the main draw.
- Friday: Round of 16 matches for men and women.
- Saturday: quarter-finals for both categories.
- Sunday: semi-finals and finals for men’s and women’s singles.
All matches will be played in a “Best of 5” format, and the competition will take place on one table over four days.
Seeding procedure
Players directly qualified for the main stage are determined according to the invitation list for this event. The seeding list will be made according to the ETTU European ranking of February. The February ranking will determine the seeding order among the 14 main-draw players and the 8 preliminary-stage players. The top 14 players directly qualified for the main stage and the 8 players required to play in the preliminary stage are determined based on the ETTU European ranking of December 2025 (the ranking used for the invitation list). There should be no association-based separation.
Continental qualification system for the ITTF Men’s & Women’s World Cup Macao 2026
- Each continent is granted the opportunity to qualify players through a Continental Cup.
- The winner, finalist and semi-finalists of the Continental Cups of Africa, Americas, Asia, Oceania and Europe qualify — a total of twenty (20) players.
- Additionally, twenty-four (24) players are selected based on the World Ranking.
- If the host association already has a qualified player, an additional spot(s) is allocated based on World Ranking.
- The latest available ITTF World Ranking at the date of publication of initial invitations will be used to determine qualified players (Week 8 – 17 February 2026).
