Yang Xiaoxin seemed tremendously relieved after making it past Yuan Jianan, the best win since she came back from maternity leave.

No I’m not American. To clarify Your payout would be 200$ if you win , -100 $ if you lose .

If you want the American option == anytime between now and expiry I’ll fix it at the end of 2026

LA is a very long time away. Too much optionality for giving you odds. If you want LA2028 I’ll make it a European Option we just look once at her WR coming into the Olympics. If you want at any point in time till LA then I give you 1:1
I can take 1:1 anytime till LA. My odds are pretty low given how competitive the women's game is. But I think she has th talent and just needs exposure and some luck as well.

IIRC Yuan has never beaten Yang or at least always struggled. Yuan came prepared this time with more accurate forehands but it wasn't enough. Style mismatch I think. But still seemed to give Yang quite a scare.

Nagasaki and Kihara: As if 500 pts every year aren't enough.

WS QF
Nagasaki 1-4 KM (2) (-7, -3, -3, 8, -9)
Given more chances, Nagasaki and Kihara should be able to do similarly as the golden generation.
You make it sound like chances are given not earned.

Hirano/Hayata/Ito have played nearly 2 times as much in WS and 3 times as much in WT as Nagasaki and Kihara have. Odo has played nearly as much as Nagasaki and Kihara in WS and WD. Nagasaki played the most in junior events with the backing of JTTA. In retrospect, COVID-19 affected the trajectories of the 2002/2004 gen the most when they were going through the stage of explosive growth (age 16-18), hence the most unfortunate generation. Their wins over Hirano and Ito and challenges posed to Hayata in the Road to Paris selection trials have already proved they could be just as capable if given the chance.

Well, it's a matter of perspective. One could just as well argue that Diaz has done better with what she has gotten than either of them. After all, Diaz is a bit of a unicorn, they are not even the best in their country or continent. The 500 points is available to them as well, it's not like Sun Yingsha and Wang Manyu are turning down those points.

Sally Moyland looks exceptionally well prepared in game 1 against Sabine Winter. Great coaching!
Sally has levelled up, it shows throughout her play in this event. She is aspiring to that solid top 50 bracket now.
