The forum is not about you, lol. The forum is for everyone to have conversations about whatever is posted on it. You can post anywhere. Anyone can post here. It is good it doesn't bother you anymore since it obviously did enough just a few days ago.playing powerful backhand openers is not something I need to improve the most at this level yet. I would neglect improving my fh. The list is already big and this one is far down the prio list.
And to the others:
Funny how some people stick around giving “tips” they can’t even explain, as if clinging to this thread makes them right.
A few days ago, I might have been annoyed by them cluttering my thread. But now, it doesn’t bother me—they’re just keeping the thread alive for those who actually want to give honest advice.
One thing that bothers me the most is I am running out of time. But I will leave this place soon not sure how far else I will go to but hopefully I can be somewhere where tabletennis is more lively and where I get better trainingspartner and competition. But that depends on a lot of variables now. I will know more in a few months I think.
The reason why a swinging with power is important os not because one is going to use it in a match but because the swing speed generated produces confidence when fhe ball needs that quality of swing to get it moving, sometimes it is timing that changes the speed tonspin ratio not swing speed. You will soon face players who will challenge your ability to open and who will counter your openings more aggressively. The funny thing is that you keep complaining about your forehand technique even though as you can clearly see, it was hardly holding you back, you just continued to know better than everyone else what you could or couldn't do to win matches. If the vaunted and mesmerizing technique hasn't shown up in matches and yet you are still winning the matches just by being more aggressive and selecting shots better, doesn't that tell you something?
I gave the example of Marcos Freitas who swings hard in practice but plays a lot of brush spins in matches. It does happen at all levels.
