I’ve forgotten the format for this event, is it 1 player or 2 that advance from each group?

Some groups look brutal. Uda has a tough one having to play jang woojin and chang yu-an (who he lost to twice in quick succession lately)

Hope Kawakami can do well and it’s a toss up between Togami and Lind. Should be a fun event

It looks like for the US, Fanduel TV has the broadcast rights. Is that correct? Are any of you watching there? Does that require a paid subscription?
When I set my VPN to Canada, I can see the streams on the ITTFWorld YouTube channel.
Should be free with ads.

WTT and ITTF unlock free U.S. and French coverage through FanDuel TV and L’Équipe
https://sportsmintmedia.com/wtt-and...ench-coverage-through-fanduel-tv-and-lequipe/
In the United States, WTT and ITTF have secured a new broadcast partnership with FanDuel TV, delivering a comprehensive calendar of WTT and ITTF events to fans nationwide throughout 2026. The agreement will see all content made available free of charge across FanDuel TV’s FAST (Free Ad Supported Streaming Television) channels and its streaming services, removing subscription barriers in one of the world’s most competitive sports media markets.

Across the 2026 season, FanDuel TV will broadcast WTT’s flagship properties, including WTT Grand Smash events, WTT Champions, WTT Star Contender tournaments, and the season-ending WTT Finals. The schedule will be complemented by major ITTF events such as the ITTF World Table Tennis Championships Finals, the ITTF Singles World Cup, and the ITTF Mixed Team World Cup, offering U.S. audiences consistent, year-round access to the sport’s highest level of competition.

WTT in new US FanDuel deal, extends with Dyn in Germany
https://www.sportcal.com/media/wtt-in-new-us-fanduel-deal-extends-with-dyn-in-germany/
FanDuel TV will cover the range of top-tier WTT events, including WTT Grand Smashes, WTT Champions, WTT Star Contender, as well as the end-of-season WTT Finals, multiple premier ITTF events, such as the World Table Tennis Championship Finals, and the Singles World Cup.

Free exclusive coverage will be available via the FanDuel TV Extra FAST channel and through the FanDuel TV+ over-the-top service.

FanDuel TV+ can be accessed for free with a FanDuel account and is available via the Roku, Amazon Fire, Apple TV, and Android TV providers (or online).

Anyone noticing the black lines on the court flooring. I don’t remember the flooring being like this from last year World Cup.
This time the official floor is Obana rather than Tinsue. So far so good.

Kaufmann: My left ankle...

It could've gone the other way if not for Hayata having more nets and edges throughout...

What WCT said appears to be right. It seems Uda also didn't know what to expect the last time at Asian Cup 2026.

Not a good look. But i suspect between seeding and rating points, there was no risk in playing as I do not think he is the top player on his group and this event is tough regardless.
