Russian Players should not be on tour during the War.

What? You don't read what @tzifos writes? Is Palestine, Iran, Venezuela recent enough for you or not.

Nobody is ignoring the ongoing NATO war againt Russia, in which Ukrainians are dying, and some people get rich... You're bound to understand it soon or later...
Jesus Christ, are you on the RT-drug? "NATO vs Russia" is straight outta kremlin brochure. In 2026 even they more or less admit that NATO avoids the conflict except meager financial support for Ukraine.
It's also nice you kindly avoided the REAL TROOPS support by North Korea for Russia plus the endless microelectronics backup by China.

Not

Not me!! Ask the USAmerican citizens about the 2 parties they have in power all these years (Republicans & Democrats) that have only minor differences in some domestic issues but they agreed to almost all foreign affairs, how many dictatorships & coups have funded all around the world.
But they are the good people they bring democracy

@M51 That is OLD! Who can remember now these crimes and the UK & US bombers destroying a country in the heart of Europe?
Of course I don't agree with the Putin's acts, I don't agree with any military actions but I DO remember the US and NATO agreement with Soviet Union (at the time when Warsow Pact was disbanded) that countries members of that Union would never be part of NATO (including Ukraine) that the Europeans and US "forgot". I also remember the 2014 crimes of neo-nazi Ukranians (like Azov Brigade) against russian-speaking people of Ukraine (Odessa, May of 2014).
There is a LOT of grey between black and white so have your eyes and ears open and your mind ... as free as possible.
Your entire position is based on a "fiction" rumor that you gladly believe in.
No wonder you also believe in fictional Ukrainian neo-nazi killers.

Show me a russian athlete who would call for Peace and an end to War! Athletes are afraid to do this, because calls for Peace in their crazy country are considered extremism. They are silent, supporting the murders and ongoing genocide of my people and my country with their silence. They have a passport of russia and silently support War and murders.
Go on then just tell us what the hell the sidorenko should have done? Show some empathy.

That's good one ;-)

Look, as much as I regret it, you've only shown inconsistent non-sense here, that was actually why @JackJohnson posted the image of M.J. when he read your non-sense. I can't help you, go further your way, it's good, just continue, as honest as possible...

“Therefore, let them get ready: this will continue to happen. There is a war going on! And citizens of EU states, as the population of warring countries, will not be able to sleep peacefully,” Medvedev threatened, noting that this applies especially to areas near drone manufacturing facilities, according to The Moscow Times.

Such things get people killed. It's one thing to engage in political activism when you are older and have done the important things you want to do, another when you are in your twenties and are yet to live life. It is perfectly normal for such things to be addressed by older and more influential people with authority and for athletes to be largely casualties. Even with all that, tennis which produces millionaires has managed to incorporate these athletes. There is no good reason why table tennis cannot.

And having a Russian passport is evidence of nothing. But this is not really about logic. Sorry for the war and what is happening to your country. But I don't believe an eye for an eye is the way to go especially when it comes to young athletes. Again, if Sidorenko was going around talking about the war, I Would feel differently. But again such things get people killed. I doubt that the French and German clubs that allow some of these players to play would allow them if they were as pro-war as you believe they are.

They have no empathy for us. They continue to kill us, they don't stop....
Athletes and other public figures from russia should not be at international competitions and other mass events while their country continues military operations, continues to kill the civilian population, continues to destroy energy and transport infrastructure, residential buildings, industrial and food premises, shops, grain elevators, shopping centers, hospitals, kindergartens, high-rise buildings, continues to turn the nearest city into rubble, until who are finished off by their artillery, continue to kill our men and women who stood up to protect their families from this horror.

They part of the country. They dont live in vacuum
No one does. Being part of a country doesn't make you influential. As you or someone else said, nothing has changed in 25 years with respect to leadership. So why blame an athlete who is younger than 25 for what the leadership is doing?

There are so many countries who have committed atrocities in the last 3 decades, but somehow I don't think the problem was that the WTT didn't ban their table tennis players.
They were initially banned, the CAS overturned the ban because ETTU couldn't demonstrate that it had analyzed the risk of doing so and found the risks unmanageable. IT is just as important to note that the athletes could be banned from many of the leagues they play in.

Athletes watched by thousands and millions of people around the world are already influential people.

What are the things that kill people? It's not clear
Protesting a war publicly in the face of a dictatorship. That is the kind of thing a normal person only does when things are so bad for them they have nothing to live for. Not everyone has a death wish or a proclivity for violence. That is for the specialists/experts/mercenaries, not for everyday citizens.

Then give him his influence, and over time, he can do the right thing as he gets older. Influence is not with young people who are usually poor. IT is with older and richer people usually or those with military/political rank.

So according to your logic german players in 1940-1945 also could play?

Maybe Russia will stop the war if Sidorenko asks them nicely. Perhaps that's what they've been waiting for all this time.
Yes, and with him, other people, who are much more numerous, will stop being afraid of this. A large number of people cannot be ignored. And what have we seen all these years? SILENCE and silent support for the War
