Im almost done with the new Iconixx 55 and 50 review, played with them now for about a month, they are interesting, have some doubts about durability I will share soon, but good alternatives to rakza Z (soft) and EH

But i find the 55 closer to Rakza Z EH than to D09c, the 55 shoots lower/longer in arc on my B2x, but yes as other said faster overall in how easily catapult activates, its a demanding rubber, lifting backspin is significanlty harder than on D09c imo without the right position/technique.

That´s GEWO for you. Innovations are left to others, but GEWO will have "their version" at some point.

I haven´t played with Iconixx, but the whole thing seems to scream NUZN, two years later. However, it seems GEWO is doing the usual of sticking sponges of different hardnesses underneath the same topsheet and selling it at the same price, while NUZN 48 and 45 are "downsized" versions of 50/55 with reduced power, for broader target groups, at a more attractive price.

Maybe some additional development has gone into it, changes been made, or I am wrong and it´s nothing like NUZN.
And all of that doesn´t make the new GEWO stuff bad, in my opinion Inventus is very much overlooked. But it´s not a hybrid and that´s where all the attention was going.

Certain Chinese company has purchased the same machines that ESN are using to build their rubbers, I do wonder if that will change the market. The ESN tech parity rubbers are rumoured to be publicly available early next year. This information comes from one of the podcast on Youtube from user Muscle Pong.

yea, the backhand rubber I use, inventus is $50 I think, and the forehand (iconixx) is $70

That would be a step in a good direction, however it´s not just only the machines but also the technology behind the rubbers, substances used, etc.

And if they made their own "Tensor", would they be selling it at an attractive price? We´ll see when they arrive, if they arrive.

I do not know much about the pricing, but much of the cost of rubbers is labour, packaging, and distribution... And China is known for having cheap all of the above. Based on the rubbers I tested from that brand, they are good right now and all of them can be purchased bellow 20€. I like them more than most of the Tensor rubbers I played in recent years. Last two years I've been playing with K3, C53, C55 and such. The ones I tested so far are faster AND spinnier with same effort level (based on how many strokes I can do in a row without losing, breath, I have a tendency to compensate with muscle power to get a satisfiable quality of balls, and if a rubber is slow / dead, I get exhasted quickly).

I do not want to put the name right now, because I would be just putting their brand everywhere on this forum, acting like a glorified propaganda machine, which I would prefer to avoid. And I paid for all the stuff. I ordered more rubbers from them to get a selection for the next year. I already like the one I tested, I have high hopes for the next one. If I don't like it, I will just get back to the one I tested this week. When I solidify my findings and find weakspots, I will write down my findings. The issues I have right now that there is nothing to complain about.

Either way. Gewo is awesome IF you get for less than 45€. Otherwise you might just get whatever you are trying to replace.
