It looks really great! I wonder why they don't finish the edges of the blade and the end of the handle at the factory?
Also I wonder how soft the walnut used by Nittaku is, because the walnut we use for the surface, is more similar to koto in terms of its technical and playing characteristics.

The edges are bad sight, especially at that price.

Have Goriki Danshi, which has less porous surface and is more resistant to nail pressure. Dr. N Matador Titan and Matador Texa Carbon are even harder. It seems like the walnut is pressed or/and threaded with chemicals. I can't leave a dent with the same amount of pressure. Bouncing the ball is sharper, more like bouncing on a glass.

IMO, Nittaku purposely uses the mushy walnut to reduce the weight or have more dwell. But let other owners of Goriki Super Drive to confirm that.

I built a defensive setup for a friend with M2 Medium on the FH side of a Donic Defplay Senso v3 and was shocked how good it felt. The veneer combination makes the blade more allround than DEF. The larger head size and balance mean I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for a full double-inverted setup but maybe something similarly flexy. I also have friends that play M2 on Yasaka Sweden Extra (which also has anegre outer) but I found it just OK there; I think the extra flex of the DSv3 is what made the rubber feel more lively.

Gotta say, its hilarious the photos thingy on the bottom is different, its like completely non-relevant to playing but we gotta make it lower quality too or maybe just older vs newer batch, idk just seems too petty

After a few years away from TT, I'm planning to play again, at least once or twice a month...

I was searching for a cheap, soft-ish rubber just to be able to play again (not named AK47 red/blue/yellow) and found theese rubbers - Double Fish Volant Phoenix 2.
Not many information about it online. The version I bought is listed at 35 degrees.
I just hope that it plays more like a euro/japanese rubber, than a typical hard, tacky chinese rubber, since I lack physical strength (and technical skills) to use those.

Its good rubber tried the volant phoenix 1 1 year ago 35 degrees might be soft for forehand though i would have go 38 to 39 , its factory boosted so no need to boost it though plays fine out of the package

DFVP2 is great quality for the price, not really tacky and indeed feels a little like linear euro rubber (as far as chinese one can feel). H35 should feel like quite soft (I played with H37). Difficult to find something more user friendly in this price shelf - especially non tacky.

The http://www.dhs-sports.com/ website has been 'upgrading' for quite some time and I can't check the code if it's legit or not. And yeah, I know that these can be also counterfeited somehow from the existing DHS equipment etc. However, there are plenty of trusted sellers on Taobao as well as offline stores who sell w968, it's not much of a 'black market' anymore since DHS officially sells these now.

Do you feel a huge difference when playing with the two blades?

Huge - nope, however the control and the grabbing of the ball sensation on w968 is much better and clearer. Commercial one is easier to play with, it's more stiff, but has worse arc. The w968 also consumes/disspates incoming ball energy much better compared to commercial one which just shoots the ball off.

To be honest, I think it's exactly like it should be:
- if you are an advanced player with good technique, w968 would be nice with some rubbers that you can hit through, it's exceptionally well with well boosted H3 BS Ma Long rubbers (I played with both H3 sides ML, 42 deg. BS black and 37 deg. red). It really felt like I'm playing with my hands, so much of a feeling of control it has.
But when the booster and the 'factory tuning' are worn off it's so so hard to hit trough the blade, harder than commercial one. I put cheaper 729 B2s and I can rip the ball now since these are also much tackier and the sponge is not so hard, though in general shots are less powerful than with H3s.

- if you're an advanced amateur then it's fine with H3 OS and whatever tensor on the backhand, the w968 or commercial

- otherwise stay with commercial or just don't touch DHS 'premium' (HL5 and above) blades at all

I wouldn't say that the price is justified to be honest, BTY Innerforce blades are 2x cheaper and still of very good quality.

But I would keep saying: play with what gives you emotions. At the end of the day, we're playing for fun, self-improvement and entertainment. If you're pro then you already know what you need.

wow they actually added the anti-counterfeiting feature to the 'Website under upgrade' page. I tried it but it still seems to be broken Anyway, I don't think I have a fake. Also, I have #007 which is cool.

Received a W81 Pro Inner and some Suke glue. The blade fixes my handle geometry issues I had with the 5X (and it's not ruined by me sealing it like a doofus and ruining the intentional sweat-soaking feature...), and the Suke glue fixes my issues I had with Liulan. DHS is still better, but it's like 3 times more expensive and I just can't justify it.

EDIT: 1421Hz on both sides for anyone concerned. I didn't measure it after sealing the surface with polyurethane gel because I've never seen even a 1Hz delta.

Received a DHS B2. I think I got an insanely nice sample; very straight and even grains with a light colored wood. The handles are barely noticeably not the same length but eh, it's fine. I like the handle more than W81. Decider will be how it plays. W81 gonna be tough to beat. It's actually not that fast for the frequency, and is in fact the slowest (good) blade I've ever used in touch play! The Fextra 5X Inner was bouncier. Yet the W81 overall is faster and more confidence inspiring than the 5X.

B2 is 1356Hz both sides.
