We had people travelling from all over Europe and the US, different ages, different standards and plenty of people who had never met before — yet within about half an hour it just felt like one big table tennis club.
One banger of a club! I've never met a more friendly, welcoming, and talented bunch of people. I wish I could play with you all every weekend.

Our facilities in Atlanta may not be BD-caliber, but for anyone that wants to visit: I have a spare guest room. 🙂

And from Jan hosting us in Czechia last year, to 30 of us descending on Düsseldorf this year… I’m slightly concerned about where this ends up next. 😂🌍🏓

Same again next year? 👀
...Dare I suggest Tokyo? Between myself and our forum members who currently live in Japan I'm sure we could make it happen.

I don’t think many people were there at the end….. But this is what it looked like when the lights went out.

Epic! 😍

Weirdest thing about the whole meeting was on day two, a random guy just showing up and sitting in the stands, not introducing themselves or whatever. Didn't actually hear him speak a word (I'm sure at least some scores had to have been uttered, but nothing I could hear). At some point Nick decided to investigate and as it turns out the guy actually came to play, who knew!
Usually, when I go to a place with people I don't know yet, I try to proactively introduce myself, state my intentions, that sort of thing.

Also, I never saw a Golden Vis so I call BS on the whole thing. This guy was probably just a paid actor (or an unpaid one).

Well yes, something happened. I still don't quite understand what the entire point is of showing up, looking like you don't even really want to be there, then disappear and go back to the usual moaning persona. Either it's elaborate, and quite weird, trolling or a really sad outlook on life. Either way I do feel sorry for him and I hope things get better, because this is no way to live

Trust me, for me, being the second interesting poster I have met in person, and the first interesting poster whose posts I have actually been able to discuss with him, it was a fascinating experience.

In any case, hopefully, we can move on to more relevant issues now... wishing him the best...

Its either troll or someone crazy, either way nothing changes :D
I would not call anyone crazy. On the second day a guy joined the playing in place of Dan. But yeah, such situation in fact had occured. There was a person who joined only on the second day, after few rounds were played. I do not know how write his name, but it started with Z.

Dan was sick-ish, not able to play. So on the Day whoever was suppose to play against him got to sit. At some point throughout the day, he joined and played a bunch of matches. He did not show up on Sunday XD I did not have had an extended opportunity to know that person better.

Was he the guy with all black long jacket and trousers, or the yellow shirt one?
The first guy talked to us outside after the session. He was some random guy that got stood up by his son and wanted to play.
