Will be nice to see what Paranang did that @zeio can use to buttress his case against Winter. Will also be nice to see what Morsch did vs Itagaki.
What are you on about? Don't call me for something I've projected all along. Some folks here simply live in a bubble and refuse to face the reality. Get real. Embrace logical and critical thinking.

WD R16
Winter/WY 0-3 Sawettabut/Paranang (-14, -10, -8)
The score might not reflect it, but the Thai pair took the German pair apart, coming from behind in all 3 games. Both Sawettabut and Paranang ate anti for breakfast...

It was no fluke that they beat IND and PRK at Asian Games 2022 (well-deserved bronze) and FRA at Paris 2024. They know how to handle pips/anti...

JCH rather than Winter. Winter stands little chance against JPN players. I suspect even top THA players can give her a run for her money.

As for WD, keep in mind Winter/WY lost to Sawettabut/Paranang at China Smash 2025, the same THA players that took out IND and PRK to finish with WT bronze at Asian Games 2022 and handed FRA a tearful 1st-round exit at Paris 2024 (which I foreshadowed not once but twice). For IND, the role model that inspired Winter, they got taken out by SGP w/ 3 young players at ATTTC 2025 (here, here).

Given the above, folks can't just look at the wins and ignore the losses. That's why CNT is so hard to beat as a team.

Here are the scores for the first half of the play-offs semi-finals. Close matches overall.

Dachau vs Langstadt 4-6

Cosic/Pranjkovic vs Paranang/Lupulesku 0:3
Winter/Byun vs Schreiner/Morsch 3:0
Winter vs Lupulesku 2:3
Byun vs Paranang 3:2
Cosic vs Mantz 1:3
Pranjkovic vs Schreiner 2:3
Winter vs Paranang 3:1
Byun vs Lupulesku 3:0
Cosic vs Schreiner 0:3
Pranjkovic vs Mantz 2:3

I wasn't aware that Langstadt would stream the match in Dachau. Unfortunately they chose Facebook again which is the worst platform to stream matches on, but here is the link if you wanna check it out. I expect them to stream on there again tomorrow.

Weinheim vs Berlin 3:6

Chien/Wan vs Surjan/Neumann 3-0
Matiunina/Trigolos vs Kaneoyshi/Griesel 3-0
Chien vs Mittelham 0-3
Wan vs Kaneyoshi 0-3
Matiunina vs Surjan 3-1
Trigolos vs Bajor 0-3
Chien vs Kaneyoshi 1-3
Wan vs Mittelham 2-3
Matiunina vs Bajor 1-3
Trigolos vs Surjan 0-1
Here is the schedule again for the re-matches tomorrow:

Sunday

Berlin vs Weinheim 1PM German time (Table 1, Table 2)
Langstadt vs Dachau 4PM German time (livestream?)

I will definitely tune in, but probably be late for the first match.

Today's matches have concluded. Berlin and Dachau will face off in the play-offs final at the end of May. Here are the scores:

Berlin vs Weinheim 5-1

Bajor/Surjan vs Chien/Wan 0-3
Mittelham/Neumann vs Matiunina/Trigolos 3-2
Kaneyoshi vs Wan 3-0
Mittelham vs Chien 3-0
Bajor vs Trigolos 3-0
Neumann vs Matiunina 3-2
Kaneyoshi vs Chien 1-1
Mittelham vs Wan
Bajor vs Matiunina
Neumann vs Trigolos

A draw was already enough for Berlin, but Chien apparently injured herself against Kaneyoshi and forfeited the match. There are conflicting result reports so I'm keeping it at 5-1 until further confirmation. Update: official score is 5-1.

Langstadt vs Dachau 2-6

Schreiner/Morsch vs Cosic/Pranjkovic 0-3
Paranang/Lupulesku vs Winter/Byun 3-2
Paranang vs Byun 3-2
Lupulesku vs Winter 1-3
Schreiner vs Pranjkovic 2-3
Mantz vs Cosic 2-3
Paranang vs Winter 0-3
Lupulesku vs Byun 0-3
Schreiner vs Cosic
Mantz vs Pranjkovic

Very close match despite the overall score. Lupulesku was on Winter's neck again, but lost this time. Paranang and Byun faced off for an hour before the match closed in an epic decider.

Golden Match

Langstatdt vs Dachau
1-4

Paranang/Lupulesku vs Cosic/Pranjkovic 1-0
Morsch/Schreiner vs Winter/Byun 0-1
Paranang vs Winter 0-1
Lupulesku vs Byun 0-1
Schreiner vs Cosic 0-1
Mantz vs Pranjkovic 0-0

Unfortunate end for Langstadt's history after beating Dachau with an impressive victory on Friday and closely losing the re-match. Paranang was up 6-1 against Winter, but ended up losing only scoring two further points. Lupulesku was also up against Byun, but she isn't as strong as Paranang against defense. Cosic was unstoppable, nothing was working for Schreiner only scoring a single point.

This is the end of Langstadt's journey in the 1. and 2. Bundesliga. The team was obviously very emotonial crying over the end which is still caught on the livestream before they shut it off.

The finals will take place on May 29 and 31. I will come back tomorrow with official statements from the semi-finals.

Not much worth sharing from the clubs about last weekend except for this from Dachau's head coach. Courtesy of Google Translate:

“We saw our chance, even if it was small,” said Dachau’s head coach, Alexander Yahmed. “We were actually hoping that Sabine’s doubles match would coincide with Orawan’s, and that we might win that one and somehow get a chance in the second doubles match. Beforehand, we thought both doubles matches would be tough. When one of our doubles pairs won 3-0, there was a chance to cause some trouble, but even if we won two doubles matches, it would still be difficult. Unfortunately, we lost Sabine’s doubles match.” Yahmed went on to explain how Dachau calculated their strategy: “Okay, let’s keep going, then we need to play 4-0 at the top of the order, and we need to get another point somewhere. When it was 2-2, the odds were stacked against us, and it seemed almost impossible, we thought. Then Dora and Naomi managed to score a point, which was incredible in the truest sense of the word. Suddenly, it was possible after all. So, I have to honestly say, we won the match because of Dora and Naomi.” Yahmed, commenting on the Golden Match, said: "Everything went according to plan until 3-1, but then what? In the end, I have to say I'm overjoyed, and I realize it's actually incredible to have advanced from where we started." He also had positive things to say about the opponent: "We would have liked Langstadt to win, too, because despite the heated, close, and fierce game, they were a likeable team. Plus, the atmosphere they created in their own arena was fantastic and really fun. Even our players were initially surprised by how great the Langstadt fans were. All that's left to say is: Great match, best opponent, unforgettable memories."

Here is a video of the Dachau vs Langstadt match from last Friday from the Bavarian table tennis association.

In other news: Fürstenfeldbruck sealed the championship in the 2. Bundesliga and will promote to the 1. Bundesliga next season. Schreiner and Mantz from Langstadt signed up for the club. The Bavarian association also made a video about their promotion.

That’s a shame. Is it due to financials that Langstadt are leaving 1 and 2 Bundesliga? I wonder whats going to happen with the current players in the team.

Money wasn't apparently the reason. Since most work to keep everything running is done by volunteers they said it's just too much. The players themselves were surprised by the decision.

As for the players:

Paranang --> Weinheim
Mantz --> Fürstenfeldbruck
Schreiner --> Fürstenfeldbruck
Klee --> Langenselbold
Morsch --> Langenselbold

I haven't seen any transfer news about the remaining players.

The play-offs finals take place this Friday and Sunday between Dachau and Berlin. Here is the schedule:

Friday 6PM

Dachau vs Berlin

Sunday 1PM

Berlin vs Dachau

No livestream links posted yet. I assume Berlin will stream the match on Friday with their portable equipment since Dachau doesn't stream. I will most likely not be able to watch both matches.

Tonight's match has concluded. It looked pretty grim for Dachau losing both doubles and the first two singles. Expedite activated right from the start in the Byun vs Kaneyoshi match and Winter lost against Mittelham in the decider blowing a small lead.

The lower pair started the comeback with their two wins afterwards, though and Winter gave Kaneyoshi her first loss this season. The match could have ended in a draw, but Itagaki fumbled and couldn't use her big lead in the third game against Bajor and ended up losing the match. Cosic who already caused an upset against Bajor stole the second game from Neumann and would have likely won, but it wasn't meant to be.

I think Dachau needs to change up their doubles for Sunday and let Winter/Byun and Cosic/Pranjkovic play if they want to have a better chance. Losing both doubles in these matches is almost a death sentence. Final scores added in the post above.

Isn’t this the final 4. If Dachau lost the overall match how can they play again on Sunday or is that bronze medal match?

That was the German Cup. This is the play-offs finals. There are honestly too many final four events and it's causing confusion.

I wasn't aware, but yesterday's match was also streamed on YouTube if you prefer that. Tomorrow's match will also be available on YouTube and the national TV's website. Start is 1PM German time. I will be at a tournament and most likely miss the whole match.

Do you have any idea why I'm on DE VPN but still cannot watch the livestream?
I even have a virtual machine which locates in DE but still it says the video is not made for your country. weird
