  1. Go back to Hurricane?

You want equipment to be consistent and predictable when you are learning, so you're correct with the logic to get provincial. H3 lasts forever anyway, so it's not that big a deal to go for provincial and eat one less burger in a year. Petr Korbel is excellent. I also agree with not...
  2. Hinoki blades are good to block or chop block with long pips?

Lazer is correct. A ball will generally bounce higher off solid wood than plywood. Solid wood provides a harder, more rigid surface that absorbs less of the ball’s energy compared to the slightly less dense nature of plywood, leading to a more efficient energy transfer and higher rebound. This...
  3. My Butterfly Dignics 09C Review: Why I think that most amateur players should avoid it

It's true that there is something good with every tool and you just need to be able to recognize it and exploit it. At a local health club, there are tables with cheap plastic outdoor paddles supplied for long lasting casual play. There is a guy who uses it better than several that bring their...
  4. Is it about equipment or playing style?!!!

Skill is always the priority above equipment, and your example is spot on that the better skilled player will be able to make the most of the equipment at hand. As for the importance of equipment, table tennis is probably the most equipment sensitive of any sport due to the speed, spin, and...
  5. DHS Hurricane 3 neo / unboosted

I play unboosted and it's plenty fast. It's like someone choosing zyre 2.5 vs 2.7 sponge. If you want the full zyre effect you'd get 2.7, but that is not necessary. If you play unboosted, pick the blue sponge. This is staight from DHS: Blue Sponge The blue sponge offers enhanced...
  6. Looking for a Fh Rubber

There are many top women players who use H3. They are not physically stronger than most guys. It's all technique.
  7. Hurricane 3 Neo (Provincial Blue Sponge, 40 degrees) is the longest living (and the best) rubber I have ever tried.

People who say it feels dead are just feeling the total linearity of the rubber. H3 puts out exactly what you put into it which translates to better control and feeling.
  8. Looking for a Fh Rubber

This is like asking other people what flavor ice cream should you choose at the ice cream shop. Everyone will suggest their own favorite, but that still doesn't mean you'll like it. You can say you like beef prepared this way, or pork prepared that way, and people can try to associate the...
  9. Looking for a Fh Rubber

Practicing your stroke, movement, and anticipation all go hand in hand when you are practicing with another person. If you only want to fine tune your stroke without any thought, you should use a robot. When you play a person, you must constantly practice reading the opponent's spin and...
  10. Butterfly Zyre 03

I tried a friend's Viscaria with 2.7 one side and 2.5 other side. Because Zyre feels softer, the slow game feels similar on both. When going full out, 2.7 has an extra gear. So in terms of a manual transmission, 2.5 is like a 5 speed, and 2.7 is like a 6 speed with a higher max speed. If...
  11. [Equipment Guide] Best First Intermediate Table Tennis Rubbers in 2026: A Comprehensive List & Analysis

I would think to use your main blade since you have more feel and experience with it. This way you can immediately understand the effect of the rubber change without another variable from the blade. All those rubbers you listed are very different and should not really be grouped so...
  12. What is wrong with this blade ??? You tell me

The grain pattern looks uneven. Left end looks denser than right end so if looking at your forehand side, 3 o'clock is less powerful than 9 o'clock. If you use the same rubber on both sides, and you consistently hit around the 10 o'clock area, you could twiddle for a better short game, and...
  13. Do you practice pushing?

I used to play a lot at ICC, and back then I saw the coaches practice pushes with their students. I don't think it was ever practiced as a stroke just by itself. Usually it goes along with practicing flipping short or looping long pushes, so you learn spin and placement with pushing, and how...
  14. The Myth of the Perfect Forehand

I think Bruce Lee applied this thinking to martial arts. First get a strong understanding of the fundamentals and learn from observing many styles. Then take what works best for the individual, and free the individual to get creative. For example, a short guy with short legs obsessing...
  15. Butterfly Zyre 03

I like your serve... lots of variations and pace changes, but very consistent. The fast deep one to the backhand corner is dangerous because it's very unexpected from the small movement you make. The videos are with D05. Do you find that Zyre makes your serve even more dangerous or less...
  16. Butterfly Zyre 03

I'll look at the positive side to this comment because I do know an Italian chef who's fanatical about sashimi/sushi and his knowledge with Japanese food makes for some very original and delicious dishes. And if FZD gave an opinion about Zyre, I wouldn't take it lightly either. In fact, I...
  17. Need easier to use alternative to DHS Hurricane 3 Neo

a solid 10/10 on consistency... why change? Just build up your strength if you feel it's heavy. My setup (Clipper/H3neo 40 blue/H8 37) is 180 grams, which is pretty average in weight. I imagine yours shouldn't be too far off in weight.
  18. Best all wood blade?

Top 3 are Clipper. Get three of them and they will all have great feeling, but play slightly different. Play with your favorite among the 3 and save the others for backup. Stick with it for several years and watch your game keep improving.
  19. Butterfly Zyre 03

I had a chance to try it a few times. As an H3 user you're right that Zyre feels pretty good. With the fast game I found it similar if you use brush strokes, and the spin is excellent. The speed difference is more apparent with drives and flat hits. For the slow game, Zyre has less...
