  1. best tt shoe?

I have the opposite experience - the 44 is a larger than my other shoes (Butterfly/Mizuno) and with hindsight a 43 would have fit better (Sanwei)
  2. What are the unwritten rules of table tennis?

This - so frustrating when I block patiently in warm up and them as soon as I transition to topspin they try to counter everything or put it down the line! Learn to block if you can't and follow the etiquette...
  3. SDC Handmade Blades

I do see you as boutique, and your description is exactly how I see most boutique builders of any artisan product - I recently picked up a high end classical guitar from a small UK boutique builder and he makes them in his workshop at his home and sells from his garage showroom! (>£2.5k) Price...

What are you attributing this better performance to - blade / rubber / both? It would be great to get a feel for how the two blades compare but for this you would need to be using the same rubber I guess.
  5. SDC Handmade Blades

I am big fan of your work and I feel your pain, but that having been said I am not a fan of the priority line concept (despite it being used extensively by people like Disney) - I simply don't like the idea of being able to buy oneself to the front of the queue. If I were in your shoes I would...

Amazing - I am very interested in hearing what you think once you get it. FZD blade next maybe ;-)
  7. DHS 968 Thread

Great news - I’m keen to know how it plays compared to your Q968 Nat.

I thought that might be the case. I tried the Inspira for the same reason. It’s a good blade but it never felt like a Visc to me - larger head/smaller handle/thinner top layer. It’s even farther away from golden Vis. It’s a very good blade but if you’re looking for a Visc it won’t cut it.

Mine is 91g and so far I love it - quite different from reg Vis as it feels softer and more controlled in general play and maybe a little more power in harder shots. Handle also feels slightly more substantial. Right now it’s my main blade.

Very exciting - what is in the box?
  11. What butterfly blade should i get?

Hadraw is not a fast blade - Tensor rubbers are fine on it in my experience and it is very controllable.
  12. Countering heavy top challenge

Yes, thanks - I read that and agree!
  13. Countering heavy top challenge

So simple Vadym when you say it like this, but not quite that easy in the heat of battle for me. I wanted/thought I could counter those loops and left it too late to change strategy! This week I started differently and served short FH or long BH and attacked the 3rd ball earlier. I attacked any...
  14. Countering heavy top challenge

Just pressure to justify to my new team mates that they have not made a mistake I guess - I want to win and slam not relaxed, especially in early games/matches.
  15. Countering heavy top challenge

Thanks NL - all fair. I am pretty good at blocking lower, faster topspin and not usually this poor against slow/high but was very tight with nerves in this new league for me. I have stepped up a level and finding myself unable to relax - spin on service, return of serve and touch play all sub...
  16. Countering heavy top challenge

Last night he was called on it by my teammate more than once - not much changed but he did try to show the ball at least.
  17. Countering heavy top challenge

Thank you all for such good advice and support. Those are really tricky balls in the heat of a match, but BH long serves, looping his serves to my FH and moving him better all helped (he had a sore hamstring to be fair and I also had 3 edge balls) but losing 12-10 in the 5th is a big...
  18. Countering heavy top challenge

Funnily enough I played him again tonight! Still struggled with blocking the loop but found ways to minimise his use - he beat me 12-10 in the bloody fifth game after I’d been 9-7 up serving!
  19. Countering heavy top challenge

Played this guy last week and will be meeting him again. Very unconventional but very effective - heavy/high topspin on everything long enough (and some nasty backspin fake loops) I’m normally ok countering but could not get on top of this - how would you deal with it?
  20. Drills VS In Game

Same issue my side - big time. I seem to lose the ability to think clearly about anything that is not automatic when I play matches. It is very frustrating and I am trying to build it more into my non match practice - better watching of the opponents bat, better recovery speed, better dancing...
