  1. Butterfly Zyre 03

How How can you feel the same stiffness and still experience more flex? Those two statements are contradicting each other. Do you actually mean you experience more "dwell" with a softer blade?
  2. Butterfly Zyre 03

I am not talking about pro's. And we hardly have any in this forum either. If you are happy with carbon then I am happy for you. I was just asking a question, that possibly implied that some of us probably benefit from using all wood blades. My personal experience is that I get more power and...
  3. Butterfly Zyre 03

For certain shots a less stiff all wood blade can produce more speed due to flex. But you are right that it comes with drawbacks, such as less stability in blocks, etc ...
  4. Butterfly Zyre 03

I see quite a few posts where reviewers state the boost in performance in speed and control when Zyre is put on all wood blade. Are you sure this actually has to do with Zyre or maybe a possibility that maybe you would perform better with also Dignics and Tenergy on all wood? Maybe you have...
  5. Sabine Winter switches to antispin

That is true I forgot about the UFO. However I think she did more twiddling than UFO in Montpellier, or maybe I missed some Epic shots :).
  6. Sabine Winter switches to antispin

The one thing(except for ofc her amazing forehand) that separates Sabine from others who plays similarly to her with LP is her unpredictability. She has a really good normal backside backhand as well and doesn't hesitate to twiddle and punish weak returns to her backhand that are aimed at her...
  7. Is there a Donic Anders Lind blade review?

This is how TTgearlabs explains the "Elasticity" rating: "As the name itself expresses elasticity index means the elasticity (= stiffness) of blade. So it is directly concerned with speed of blade. Especially Ep is similar to speed. Ec becomes meaningful only when we hit blade very hard. The...
  8. Carbon blade for long pips

Of course it is possible to chop far away from the table with a fast carbon blade. Is it optimal; no! Especially not for the OP, who has not chopped before and wants to try it out. My guess is that OP will not have much fun and then give up on the experiment quickly. Chop-blocking with LP or...
  9. New blade to be released by Stiga this month

I have tried it. It looks great and has really good build quality. It was more stiff than I expected but not as stiff and fast as Cybershape carbon or Viscaria type of blade. But still notably more stiff than a Clipper.
  10. Change from Bfy to ESN

I can very much recommend Stiga Helix Platinum for FH. I have switched from D09c to Helix recently and it works better for me. Looping close and further away from the table is where the rubber really shines. Grip is much better on Helix Platinum than DNA Platinum.
  11. Handle choice for Cybershape: Flared, Straight – or slight sanding down?

Stiga flared are quite narrow. Too narrow for my taste. I would recommend either getting the flared version and put some grip tape on or buy the straight handle and get used to it. Don't bother with trying to sand it into a custom flared.
  12. New Stiga DNA Helix review

I have tried the Helix M. I think it feels quite different to DNA Platinum M. Actually felt quite comparable to Tenergy 19.
  13. New blade to be released by Stiga this month

Carbonado 90 is not that slow. TTgearlabs rating puts it in the same range as Butterfly Harimoto ALC or the newer Innerforce ALC. So my guess is the Destiny would score the same.
  14. New blade to be released by Stiga this month

More like a Carbonado 90 with dyed top ply
  15. New blade to be released by Stiga this month

I agree is is a bit too pricey. Entry level carbon blades from Butterfly has similar pricing. Strangely enough though, the Destiny blade is priced lower than the Carbonado 45 right now, at least in the Swedish shop.
  16. New blade to be released by Stiga this month

And now it is released ... Stiga Destiny Carbon released
  17. New blade to be released by Stiga this month

Stiga has a new campaign started in social media hinting at the release of a new blade. I found this incomplete page on their website. Seems more like a rebranding of the Carbonado 90 to me, but calling it "Destiny" instead. Hopefully they have been more creative though, by introducing something...
  18. Pro players using short pips on BH

I have played with Spectol S1, Spectol S3 and Stiga Symmetry on Harimoto ALC and Viscaria. Works well for me and I do not think there is a huge difference between the blades. Both are stable. One thing that is a weakness of SP is when you get a bit of a distance to the table. When this happens...
  19. Victas Koki Niwa Wood vs Swat Power?

ttgearlab.com score them quite similarly. You can check TTgearlab - 7 ply wood. The Victas samples seem to have been a bit heavier than the Stiga samples, so the SWAT scores a bit higher on speed, but with similar weight, my guess is that they will score pretty much the same.
  20. Truls using new stuff from Stiga in Yokohama

To be fair, as you can see in my original post, Stiga started announcing the release of something new, to be released in the end of august, already at the start of Yokohama. This marketing was launched at least to my knowledge in all major social media flows. It was not something they ad-hoc, in...
