  1. Do you prefer the old Table Tennis matches over current matches?

The biggest change came in 2000 with the larger ball. Game slowed down and less spin. The matches might look slower, but pre 2000 the players had super fast speed glued bats and a much faster and spinier ball. Very different game. This is why we see so many more unforced errors in the...
  2. Quarterfinal Loss 2-3 in First U1100 Sanctioned Tournament – Please Share Pointers

I agree with previous posts focusing on serve and receive. You are very predictable because your instinct is to push return every serve you receive. Even the ones that are fast with zero spin or slight side/top spin. It actually looks a bit like somebody with long pimples on backhand would play...
  3. Truls using new stuff from Stiga in Yokohama

Yeah, the new rubbers do not produce as high quality chop blocks as regular Platinum ;)
  4. WTT Champions Japan 2025 - 7-11 Aug 2025

I do not agree with some of the comments here that WCQ was playing at low capacity. Harimoto vs WCQ game was maybe the best match I have seen. For sure one of the fastest games of table tennis ever.
  5. Truls using new stuff from Stiga in Yokohama

Appearantly Truls is using something new from Stiga in Yokohama. #stigatabletennis is posting on instagram: "Something’s changing. Truls Möregårdh has already unleashed his new weapon in Yokohama — powering his way to the semi-finals. Soon, it’s your turn. The next evolution in speed, spin, and...
  6. Anton Kallberg's blade at Yokohama?

Anton's blade has been looking like that for a long time. Butterfly are usually clear about when some of their sponsored players are using a custom blade(I.e. Dang Qiu). However, with Anton they have stated he is using the Dima blade, also for a long time. I'm not sure why.
  7. Franziska Innerforce ZLC

Plenty of threads already on this topic. I.e. look below in "similar threads" section.
  8. FZD switches from alc to salc

I think you missed the intent of being ironic ;)
  9. FZD is back, not in shape but . . .

Not a a very sharp picture, but I see the purple sponge. It could be Bugller though! :ROFLMAO:
  10. FZD is back, not in shape but . . .

He beats the world nr 1 but not in shape? :) I think both players made many unforced errors in the first two sets, but after that it looked the same as before and during olympics to me.
  11. New Stiga Cybershape Aura (!?)

The look of these new blades do not really appeal to me. They do not look like Stiga. Pastel colors  ... The Inspira Surge looked quite good, but wavy and aura .......
  12. Which blade?

Some of the best players in my club, playing in high league divisions in Sweden play with all wood blades. I.e: Stiga Clipper Wood Stiga Cybershape Wood Butterfly Petr Korbel Yassaka Sweden Extra To me the difference compared with inner carbon blades is not that big. Maybe a bit more flex in...
  13. DNA Hybrid vs Dignics 09C vs Hybrid K3?

I can only compare DNA Hybrid H and D09C. DNA plays more like a regular tensor. It is faster and easier to flat hit and block. So to summarize: DNA + Flat hitting and blocking + Quite a lot faster(more catapult) unless you use a lot of force then D09C is just as fast D09C + Easier to flick +...
  14. Victas Hino-Carbon Power

Koki Niwa wood handle and hino-carbon are quite different. At least the ST. Koki Niwa wood is bit square, kind of similar to Butterfly TBS. Hino-carbon is thin and rounded.
  15. Sponge hardness is not the end of story...

I have a team mate who plays really nice controlled high arc, high spin loops with both fh and bh with T25FX. He barely ever flat hits. So I believe it can be used quite well for a classic playing style as well (even though maybe the other Tenergies are more optimal for this!?).
  16. Did Lin Gaoyuan get sponsored by a new brand? His backhand rubber has purple sponge

Maybe he started playing short pips and is trying out the new Bugller from Butterfly. :) Bugller is purple sponged.
  17. Best alternatives to Dignics 09C?

    Stiga Dragongrip is quite similar
  18. Need help choosing first short pips

I now have Spectol S3 1.6mm on Harimoto ALC. Chopping from mid/long distance is possible, but not ideal. Blocking is very stable and better speed. I used Spectol S1 1.6mm on a TB Spirit before. Blocking was very easy, however the pace was quite slow. Chopping had not that much spin reversal and...
  19. Need help choosing first short pips

I agree Spectol S1 fits the description. I used S1(1.6mm) before on outer ALC blade. For me the setup was a little bit too slow for blocking and not good enough for chopping. I have now switched to Spectol S3(1.6mm) on an inner ALC blade and blocking has really improved and chopping ability is...
  20. Is super zlc too fast for me?

https://www.butterfly-global.com/en/story/mizutani_20th/ check 2014-2015. Here is a part of when JM switches back and forth between the blades. The reasoning for the change is a bit vaguely described as that he needs more control now since the playing conditions are so different at different...
