  1. Table Tennis Crisis

Hey @lodro When I speak to players about how they lose points, this is the number one thing killing them... going for too much on shots... going for too much when100 percent is not needed... going for a swing with way more motion than needed... going for full power when out of...
  2. Table Tennis Crisis

Here is the pic 888 took of me that your. You will surely spot us and say HEY Der_Echte.
  3. Table Tennis Crisis

Here is a pic of him taken from the 2021 888 teams. You will run into us and a lot of other new friends, will hook you up with a few more ringers like Ali, whose rating is 500 points below his play level, just like much of the good LA based players.
  4. Table Tennis Crisis

Hi @Caskal, I have been at Westside a few times on visits and have friends there, Kyle m among others. I am speaking of Sergey the Tsos Tsvor, who is a 2100-2200 player and has the most practical know-how about all things H3. He is really famous on TTD. Here is a pic of us at Dr Le's OCTTA...
  5. Table Tennis Crisis

Look for Der_Echte and Sergey the Tsos over there among the hundreds... Sergey, the undisputed USA master of H3 treatment and usage hands down, who will soon be on the forum.

Glue gasses out and blade can gain or lose moisture weight. 3 grams lost over a few months is not an abnormal threshold.
  7. slightly slower alternatives to MX-P

Hey OP @Lasse1 Tibhar Aurus is right up your alley. Reasonable priced, lasts for hundreds and hundreds of hours and it is easy to do most everything.
  8. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I have somehow drifted into exactly what you described... on reset elbow several inches behind rib cage... it was like I was almost already cheating on the FH backswing to be more compact. One thing Angie and Stellan Bengston showed me at their camp recently was exactly that... that this elbow...

@blahness is totally barking up the right tree (an American expression meaning going in the right direction on some issue) on this. (how elbow position on ready and reset ready sets things up) How you position your arm and elbow on ready or reset ready determines a LOT about what you can do...
  10. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Had a 4 hour training yesterday with John Rambo Daniil without anyone trying to get on the table for matches. Had maybe 350 training balls to use. Did many static and dynamic drills, many combination drills, many drills with a certain sequence then free to play to win point. Legs were smoke...

@dingyibvs As crazy stupid as it sounds, Der_Echte as a near 60 yr old bear sized munchkin relied on athleticism too much. I have been doing essentially the same thing... had good capable technical shots, but was not in optimal position right away or ever and relied on athleticism to get close...
  12. San Francisco looking for training partner.

There is a huge absence of consulting Sergey Scoobie Doo, who is secretly USA's foremost expert on all matters of H3 boosting and usage.
  13. San Francisco looking for training partner.

Hi @Grumms , I share the same general attitude about equipment magically making one's game many levels better. (meaning an equipment change by itself normally would make not so much difference in most situations) I do believe though, that certain equipment makes it easier or more difficult to...
  14. San Francisco looking for training partner.

If you are able to get enough training time in... and get enough focused play time with the right level of players (and there are enough of them in your metro area) then I believe you could make a 2000 rating and even a consistent 2000 training level.
  15. San Francisco looking for training partner.

Peter, with so many years of the ABS ball, it has become much easier to attack spins and handle spins. Also many many many many, did I say MANY more kids are professionally trained in big time clubs and kept in a closed loop competing only against each other at ratings of 100 to 300... but they...

C'Mon man... looping underspin is the easiest thing to do in tt for attacking/opening. You just need sum leverage and a good whip/timing/biomechanics. Adjust on slow loop by opening bat or going up more... on power loop be sure to time ball soon after bounce on rise forward swing a little lift...
  17. Seeking Advice To Buy My First Combo

Being closer to center of mass of appropriate zone is what to be concerned about... ur N11 wood blade and Mercury rubbers are plenty near center for what is needed. No need to worry about what is exactly right as there is no such thing for this situation... kinda like the saying of no solutions...
  18. Post your latest EJ purchase

IDK... latest EJ purchase? Maybe a Peter Korbel blade 5 years ago...
  19. Aligning Hurricane 3 after re-boosting

Sergey the Tsos would know, maybe someone PM him to keep this a secret. @Jslick89 understands exactly what I'm sayin'. :D
  20. San Francisco looking for training partner.

I was at that ICC tourney in the first set of vids, I recognize one of my friends when went to only that tourney on only that date. I think I was a 1900 scrub player back then. (pun intended, but true) A gazillion things separate a 2000 from a 2200 level... A quick over simplification is...
