  1. Tenergy05 vs Dignics09c(durability)

In my impression, rubbers like T05 Hard and Stiga Mantra XH play quite similarly to Chinese rubbers, but hybrid rubbers are quite different from Chinese rubbers. As someone who has always used Chinese rubbers, there's something about hybrid rubbers that makes me very uncomfortable -- I think it...
  2. Stiga Mantra H/Pro H

I think this is not very accurate. Dignics creates lots of spin with a short stroke, but Mantra creates much more spin if you have a long powerful stroke.
  3. Stiga Mantra H/Pro H

Mantra Pro is better than any hybrid rubber I ever tried
  4. Anyone tried the new Stiga Mantra Sound?

Not a bad decision, but you could just get Mantra M or Mantra Pro M. Maybe even the H version. It seems like there is a consensus that Mantra is a pretty good rubber. Also idk what kind of blade you tried Mantra on, but I think it feels extremely controlled if you put it on 5-ply wood. If you...

    Can I ask for a website? :)
  6. Rasanter R53 for FH or BH?

Tensor + hard sponge is a wild combination
  7. Tenergy05 vs Dignics09c(durability)

    douse your racket with honey

That's a good idea then. Plus, you'll get to compare/contrast the rubbers. Another thing you can do to make your racket lighter is to leave a gap between the rubber and the handle (see photo below). A lot of penholders like this anyways because it lets you get a better grip with your index...

You could use a regular sponge but they get dirty quickly. Maybe if you keep it in a plastic bag. The thing that's nice about the Nittaku sponge is that it has a cap, so it doesn't gather dust in storage.

Lol no worries at all. You could do Skyline 2 + Mantra. The difference between Skyline 2 and Skyline 2 Neo is that the Neo version is a bit lighter and springier. It's hard to say which is more beginner friendly, between Hurricane 3 and Mantra. The answer depends on your philosophy about what...

The thickness doesn't have to match. Some people like thicker rubbers and some people like thinner rubbers. Some people like thick rubber on one side and thin rubber on the other side. Honestly there is not much of a difference between 2.0mm and 2.1mm. There is a small difference in weight...
  12. Trying to buy my first blade...

Yeah, you could do Skyline 2 FH with Hurricane 3 or Mantra XH BH. As a backhand-dominant player, it's a good idea to have hard rubber on the backhand so that you can make powerful attacks. If you want a lighter racket (for more wrist control), try: Blade: Ma Lin Extra Special FH: Skyline 2 NEO...

Skyline 2 FH and Ma Lin Extra Special are great. Vega Intro isn't a bad choice. Better than the other Vega series I think. But I think Stiga Mantra H / XH is a way better choice in every respect. Stiga Mantra also comes in M (medium hardness). Mark V is also a much better choice than Vega Intro...
  14. Rosewood NCT V

Update: now that I have had more time to "break in" the wood, this racket feels even more incredible. The soft touch is even better than it was at the beginning, and the flicks feel like they have some more power behind them. It feels like I "grab" the ball more when power-looping. Today while...
  15. Dignics 09c

I feel vindicated in my opinion after finding out that all these guys at TT11 tested Dignics 09c against other sticky/hybrid rubbers, and they all thought it was ass:

If your backhand is stronger than your forehand, then you can even try Skyline 2 on BH. I am also a backhand-dominant player, and for my backhand I switch between Skyline 2 and Hurricane 3. Hurricane 3 is a bit easier to perform compact wrist/elbow shots with; whereas Skyline 2 really requires a...
  17. Tenergy05 vs Dignics09c(durability)

T05 and D09c have different durabilities and I think maybe it doesn't make sense to directly compare them to each other. They are both durable in different ways. D09c is durable in the sense that it lasts a long time without tearing or physically degrading the topsheet. You CAN use it for a...

Skyline 2 is a great rubber, especially for penholders. I think this is the most popular rubbers for penholders. Ma Lin Extra Special is a great blade. Good for playing an aggressive attacking style like Ma Lin. It's a very fast blade, so playing it with tacky Chinese rubbers should be a good...

YEO is an incredible choice. I say this as an RPB penholder. YEO is definitely the best quality blade you can get for around 50 USD. If you order from TT11, I would recommend Neottec Voodoo Classic or Neottec Gamma 7. These blades will give you the best feeling. YEO will give you a bit more...
  20. Benefits of short pips on backhand?

You can play quickly and directly. Ideally, you play close to the table with pips. Each stroke has a fixed amount of energy -- some percentage of your energy goes into spin, and the rest goes into (linear) speed. With pips, you're not generating much spin, so nearly 100% of your energy goes...
