  1. How Did I Win or Lose a Match?

Adult learners try to do all steps and motions (with excessive motion) on nearly all shots and wonder why they are not progressing !!! It is no-shyt Sherlock situation if you ever saw one. Trying to master complicated muti-moving pieces shots requiring precision timing and explosion by means of...
  2. How Did I Win or Lose a Match?

I can say this about use of wrist when learning BH shots... it is difficult enough to get elbow out there and stabilize it... and it is difficult enough to make a stroke using the lower arm while NOT moving the upper arm... it is difficult enough just to effectively JUDGE where the ball is going...
  3. Table tennis rubbers for beginners with "Catapult" effect.

Any softish modern dynamic control oriented rubber is fine... M3, Z3, Aurus soft, FX-P, and FX or Soft versions from the major makers... all make it easier to get ball into topsheet and do a topspin, this helps control on topspin and to develop feel to spin.
  4. What is a compact stroke?

Big strokes and big backswings are moving pieces that make it a lot harder to time bat to point of impact in the efficient part of the strike zone. Inherently, beginning players develop slowly going full swing full power.
  5. Downgrade blade back to all-wood?

I "Downgraded to the PPP to get back to spinning first ball over driving... mission accomplished... and if I decide to go ground-pound dog pound... then I can bring the Quarter Pounder to the ball. I do not miss any of my former faster bats... I would say 6-12 months on the PPP I could play...
  6. How to play for a professional club like FC SAARBRÜCKEN-TT in the Bundesliga?

Jimbob is demanding sum Missouri action... SHOW ME. Klasse. but it is always fun to exclaim You CAN'T be SERIOUS ???!!!
  7. How to play for a professional club like FC SAARBRÜCKEN-TT in the Bundesliga?

I know JM actually said... du kannst nicht ernst sein ???!!! ... but... bist du ernst?... is easier to digest.
  8. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Hi @dingyibvs , You would have to glue the 1mm wood piece on a removed handle piece, shave it down and weigh it to know... but I doubt it would add more than a few grams and I would strongly say it would feel LIGHTER after you do it, when you re-assemble it all and start hitting. You would not...
  9. How to play for a professional club like FC SAARBRÜCKEN-TT in the Bundesliga?

John McEnroe said it way back in the day... bist du ernst ??? You may need to speak a little German, unless you make WR30 senior men level, then it doesn't matter, they will chase you with translator.
  10. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

You could always start with 1mm shims on each side... remove handle pieces and apply a 1mm thick piece of wood to each, sand, install, sand and go to war with your nice 896 badge still showing.
  11. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Chase really doesn't like to attach them, maybe customers get picky... I have no problem attaching them and sanding them.
  12. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

One would be surprised at how the bat performs with blade handles that suit the hand better. That is why I have local blade maker Chase Bladecraft make handle pieces for me that are thicker than OEM handles.
  13. Now I know why zeio wanted Lee Sang Soo to retire.

Lee Sang Soo with his big BHs and some FHs simply working it vs Ma Long.
  14. Video Footage Safe Thread

I did not speak much of your strong points... I will keep it to serves... I normally see that players from your country at the amateur level tend to serve long nearly 100% and let opponent attack... and get into a fast hitting rally. I rarely see any attempt to serve short to mess up opponent...
  15. Video Footage Safe Thread

Hey @h3llary , I will not write the wall of text... I could do this on your BH alone (your BH 1st shot is good, the next one(s) not so good - errors) You seem to be comfortable playing a style to allow opponent to open the point and take risks, maybe miss a shot, and you block or counter...
  16. Video Footage Safe Thread

Hi @jk1980 , One thing off the top... if you want to return with underspin... do NOT wait for ball to come to you... you give opponent DOUBLE time and space to see things... and the touch is more difficult. STEP IN and TOUCH the ball near the bounce with little to no swing... control rebound...
  17. Punch Oriented Backhand Rubbers

I say all kind of sarcastic stuff on these kind of threads with obvious answers... I can say seriously that the bh rubber in my sig bat... Aurus Soft, can punch like a motor scooter on BH, often my BH hit is faster than many players' FH smashes.
  18. Punch Oriented Backhand Rubbers

Get whatever the Indian ladies had on their stuff when they had wins vs CNT.
  19. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I did not mention how far to swing... middle of strike zone is maybe 30 cm from body usually on left... not much follow through if any needed for hit or fast loop... more for medium loop and more follow through for slow heavy spin loop.
  20. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Yes. Learn leverage of elbow in front, upper arm forward and almost even to ground, little wrist preload, very little. On swing go forward with lower arm, let wrist go into ball at impact... tiny amount and FIRM up. This is the BH hit and the biomechanics are pretty much the same for all BH top...
