  1. Experience with some other Loki rubbers - Arthur China, GTX Pro (inc)

Sorry about hijacking the thread back to H3, but I have the following hypothesis about the TT11 test. No doubt they are good players. But do they usually play with tacky Chinese rubber? If they always play with ESN rubbers (or Neottec rubbers, apparently they love it), then their lack of...

Also Felix uses K3, Dang Qiu uses D09c. Pretty sure not all penholders are the same :) (and He Zhi Wen uses short pips LOL)

I am definitely not swinging my FH anything like Ma Lin, Wang Hao or Xu Xin, so I would reserve my opinion on whether H3 or TG suits penholders better :) There are also some penholders in the CNT, maybe not the top 5 but there are a few, do they all use TG as well?

I don't think even manufacturers fully understand how exactly blade, rubber and sponge all work together. They probably have some material property testing, some bounce/flight testing with a robot, some feedback from professional players. If they truly crack the code, Butterfly wouldn't need to...
  5. Penhold Rubber Selection Advice

At amateur level, the backhand isn't very good with SH either until you cross a certain level. Whilst I believe TPB can be effective at amateur level (any style can, to be fair), one key factor IMO is access to coaching. With RPB, a SH coach could still translate most of what they know about SH...

He is entitled to FEEL little difference between all different H3s, I am fine with that because it is personal. I would be interested in some objective testing for the different versions. I don't like paying for DHS so I won't test them myself to see whether I can tell the difference. But, H3...

why are you even EJing then, just slap two H3s (commercial) on your blade...

if national is indeed provincial with better QC, then it is very likely that the weight of the rubber is on the metric. Anyone has a dozen provincial and national H3 sitting around for some measurements?

From what I've heard, Rxton 7 will be Loki's H3 37 deg, Rxton 9 will be Loki's H3 National blue sponge.
  10. Penhold Rubber Selection Advice

jpen and cpen are different. OP is asking about RPB, the example you mentioned is barely relevant.
  11. Tenergy for $42?

I think they are only allowed to sell Butterfly stuff in the Baltic states. I can't see any Tenergies on TT11 from the UK.
  12. An upgrade from V>15 extra

Maybe Stiga DNA Platinum H? 50 degree sponge with thin topsheet. I never try it though, purely suggesting based on manufacturer's rating.
  13. An upgrade from V>15 extra

I thought that was the point of V>15, being relatively insensitive to incoming ball.
  14. Has anyone tried Hurricane 9 Pink ?

how does boosted h8 80 compare to boosted gtx?
  15. How does Glayzer 09C compare to K3?

g09c is significantly slower than K3. Whether it is too slow is another matter. g09c also has a much higher arc. Spin-wise difference is not as obvious.
  16. Has anyone tried Hurricane 9 Pink ?

2 layers and still not very fast...sound like it can be easily substituted by other Chinese rubbers.
  17. Has anyone tried Hurricane 9 Pink ?

    http://m.dku51.com/article-12614.html Blue = #20 sponge = H3 blue sponge Pink = #22 sponge = H3 orange sponge Green = purple = #80 sponge = H8-80 red sponge
  18. Practice drills for lefty

as a lefty, my coach advises me to: use FH to cover more table I.e. pivot more, because that usually goes towards my opponents' BH (and it's weaker generally) if I attack with BH, try to make it wide to move my opponent away from the table, otherwise they would have a comfortable ball to hit...
  19. For those over 30yo, what could you have done differently?

going from 85 kg to 75 kg works for me.
  20. Maybe I don't need this many rubbers...

thanks for your review, I think I will skip this one. Im not a big fan of hard topsheet soft sponge combo.
