  1. why wait to dry the glue?

This is a pretty cool idea, I remember from my childhood that the adult top players in the club used to wet glue the speed glue. They used the sponge of the rubber to spread the speedglue on the blade and the sponge itself. Once spread "evenly" they immediately slapped the 2 mofo together and...
  2. why wait to dry the glue?

I find her explanation to be the best. The subtitles kind of suck and you need to look behind the meaning but I think the most important part comes through. Using a brush instead of a sponge is kind of a waste. I am not sure if the brush would be usable after one use. Also the hair is very weak...
  3. Friendship 729 battle 3

That makes sense since FTL is the defacto booster for G-1 in my opinion and it's not that great with H3 or dense sponges. B3 has some pores in the sponge so maybe that's why FTL is better. I also used a very thin layer of FTL on the sponge but not for boosting but to make the sponge stick to the...
  4. Friendship 729 battle 3

I think I broke in my B3... It was a bit of an effort and an endurance run. I played with it for 20 hours and now I think it's broken in. I was kind of swapping around the B3 and Palio The Way on my blade but while the Palio is a pretty surprisingly cool rubber the B3 is just such a beast. Even...
  5. Nittaku Genextion is out

Yes, but let's hope it doesn't last as long as a condom😅
  6. Looking for a backhand-punch rubber

Planned obsolescence? MXP or Rasanter dying after 4 weeks sure helps Tibhar's, Andro's (and ESN's bottom lines) I don't see an issue using G-1 or V15 Extra for even a year, I have 2 year old black sheet that is not much worse than a new red one to be honest. Also it's interesting that the...
  7. Looking for a backhand-punch rubber

I guess the problem is if you get a punch oriented rubber you will lose some of the spiny open ups. It's always balance between the two. If you like German made rubbers the ones that are oriented for fast hits are Rasanter V series, so V47, Xiom Vega Asia (T64-ish), Gewo Nexxus 48 XT (XT is for...
  8. Post your latest EJ purchase

Incoming, probably arriving in 2 weeks. Big fan of the Yasaka Dragon series.
  9. New Equipment 2024

I have a hunch it's pretty much the same as Hammond Z2 or Mantra Pro.
  10. Simon Gauzy was right or wrong in that point?

In the female final, final set Sun Yingsha also claimed an edge ball and while it was impossible to tell if it was an edge or not at least she had the brain to force to look at the replay. She was pretty persistent about it and I think she let it go in the end when she saw it's not visible on...
  11. Friendship 729 battle 3

It would be fairly straightforward for a manufacturer to create a "robot arm" and just hit the ball with it with determined forces/angles and with a camera measure the ball's rotation and speed. Maybe I give too much credit to them but I assume this is how they come up with their speed and spin...
  12. NEW Gold Arc 9

Some H9, I think the green and maybe violet?
  13. Simon Gauzy was right or wrong in that point?

I guess I will get a lot of shit or love for my post. Just to get it out of the way, that was an edge ball without a question and I bet Simon feels horrible after the fact for contesting it because he looks like a fraud and he is on camera. I am sure he is not a fraud, he is one of the last of...
  14. New Stiga Mantra Pro

Almost completely open racket angle and maybe around 15 degree upward motion only, the rest is forward. The topsheet is very strong so it will use the incoming spin very well to make enough arc. It won't be a high arc but I find it very safe and it lands near the white line and it's fast too...
  15. New Stiga Mantra Pro

What I do is let the opponents spin grap into the topsheet and the rubber will create an arc from it and I just hit more forward. It's like I try not to grip the ball just let the top sheet stretch as little as possible. But it's also possible to do the classical upwards countering when you try...
  16. NEW Gold Arc 9

If one puts a plastic film over a tacky Chinese rubber they are not so slow on a bounce test. The GA9 should be plenty fast.
  17. Friendship 729 battle 3

One thing I just got reminded of is that the first time I glue B3 it just doesn't stick to the glue. A stronger wind can blow the rubber off the blade. My glues don't stick to the sponge. After adding a thin layer of booster the sponge becomes kind of tacky tho.
  18. Loki Rxton III Pink Review

    That's very smart.
  19. Friendship 729 battle 3

I just glued my new 40deg sheet on today to the Cybershape and on my backhand I'm back to V>15 extra which is pretty fast. I dare say around T64ish speed. Anyway the B3 without a doubt is slower but not by much. Maybe 25% slower on a simple bounce test and it does this without any catapult...
  20. My experience with Chinese rubbers

Yeah, I hit pretty hard, one of the reason is to break in the rubber faster. But I hit hard in general too. I've seen Chinese players just hitting the ball in the net really hard from close. I would consider this as off the table play too, but one could just hit it in the sky and wait for it to...
