  1. Tcore Master X Rubber Review

Hi Yogi, great review, good to hear from you again!! hope you’re well and fully recovered, I tested positive for Covid yesterday, so glad I’m double jabbed, just got symptoms similar to a common cold. Isolating for 11 days, gonna miss last day of my level 1 coaches course, bummer!!
  2. Dhs h8-80

On Tuesday I played with Tau 2 and H8-80, the Tau 2 has lost some tackiness since I last used it, also more bouncy compared to the H8-80 and quicker.I would say that, when new Tau 2 is closer to H8-80, I think the older that Tau 2 gets, the more tackiness it looses and the spring sponge effect...
  3. A rubber recommendation for something with tacky top sheet and eu style sponge?

Donic have 5 tacky rubbers with bouncy sponges, Bluegrip series, from memory the 1st versions were V1 50 degree sponge fine pore, R1,50 degree sponge medium pore 2nd C1 60 degree sponge, C2 55 degree sponge latest is S2, uses Acuda S2’s soft controlled sponge. Xiom Omega Guang 55 degree...
  4. Getting back into TT properly with the DHS Neo Hurricane 3

Usually when addressing the ball for a golf swing, the feet are fairly straight at 90 degrees to the target line, some splay the feet slightly (toes wider than heals) I have also been told that having a more pronounced splay of the feet can really help protect a golfers back and knees, there’s a...
  5. New blade

I second that advice!! Defo give Sergio a shout!!
  6. Feedback on topspin form

Totally agree, all I said was that the ground is a tool and can be used to better effect. For example sprinters spikes and starting blocks help a sprinter, likewise a good pair of trainers with grippy soles helps you use the ground. No point in applying all that force if your feet just slide away!!
  7. Chop

You!! Original Poster, I think!! Over the table, backspin is imparted by a ‘push’, well depending on how you execute, little/no spin, medium back spin and heavy back spin. So a ‘basic’ stroke such as a push, has a few variations and slight technical differences. These variations would be taught...
  8. Feedback on topspin form

Hi BB, Power from the ground is also used in golf. A coach I used to have lessons with has a pressure plate in his coaching unit. He used to say he should use it more regularly when coaching. The idea is to make yourself weigh more during the swing process. One guy could add about 5 pounds...
  9. Dhs h8-80

Just checked, £54 and bits for 2 sheets at checkout, so the VAT is added at Checkout by Aliexpress. £23 / sheet at the store =£46 £27 is still a good price for a quality product!!!
  10. Dhs h8-80

From memory, When you add to cart, and then proceed to checkout, I think that’s when they add the VAT, so one sheet should be about £27 ish.
  11. New rubbers

Hi, From what you’ve written above, you should be pretty technically sound!! I’m just about 1/2 way through my Level 1 Coaching course, so you’re one step more advanced on that score!! I’m from around the same area as you as well, Hertford and District League, there’s a couple of clubs from...
  12. Dhs h8-80

I bought my sheets via Aliexpress, Yeah they take a while to arrive. If you keep the total cost ( after the 20% VAT is added) to less than £125, then there shouldn’t be any additional customs tax to pay. The package arrives at customs and goes through for delivery. As of yet I’ve had no issues...
  13. New rubbers

Hi, Any footage of you playing? Gives us a much better idea of your style, ability, level etc then easier to recommend rubbers that are better suited to you. Cheers
  14. what's your serve return thought process

As the others have said, your contact point when on the same side of the ball that the server struck the ball will make the receive easier and can also return a lot of their own spin back to them, especially if your return is more on the passive side. You will also be able to have better control...
  15. Dhs h8-80

I think you will like H8-80!!!! But probably boosted more than un-boosted!!!
  16. Dhs h8-80

Hi, I’ve been using the 37 degree version on BH for about 6 weeks now, un-boosted, 38 degree on FH. Personally, I don’t have any issues using it un-boosted, that’s not to say that it doesn’t ‘need’ boosting, some players may still prefer to boost H8-80!! Stick it on un-boosted, give it a go and...
  17. I cannot win

I tend to agree with Andy K, Training is one thing, matches are another!! During matches people don’t do things you want them to do or expect them to do!! They don’t play the ball to where you want it !!! Basic training using ‘regular’ routines has its place and is definitely necessary, but...
  18. Should I change to Chinese rubber on the forehand?

The difference in FH loop stroke types, nowadays is far more ‘blurred’ than it used to be!! By this I mean that perhaps European’s have taken on board some of the Chinese techniques and the Chinese have taken on board some Euro techniques especially for close to the table fast rallies. If you...
  19. Rubber catapult ranking

I noticed the higher throw angle more away from the table!! As well as the catapult effect of the sponge. As far as short game was concerned, perhaps it suited my stroke type or I just adjusted to RZ’s characteristics well.
  20. Rubber catapult ranking

Don’t get me wrong, Rakza Z (RZ) will still feel ‘deader’ than a non tacky ESN type grippy rubber. What I noticed was that away from the table, RZ was much easier to play with compared to say H3Neo or Battle 2, less effort needed to defend or loop a ball back. This was the sponge kicking in.
