  1. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Just piecing together a few clips from my practice match tonight. I was playing with a very good Romanian guy (who I play with). I much prefer playing against better people (and he is better than me!) Video to follow!
  2. Butterfly Harimoto Innerforce ALC Blade - April 2019

Yeah, the obvious ones are there (not always, but the "named blades" are usually a good sign, which includes Apolonia and anyone using the Mizutani blade. Although I'm not sure I'd class that as "lots". Slightly off topic though, and I appreciate your input! Definitely agree with the rest of...
  3. Butterfly Harimoto Innerforce ALC Blade - April 2019

Yeah, I wasn't trying to be pedantic lol - But you made it seem like ZLC was also widely used (despite being less popular than ALC), and it was SZLC which was the black sheep of the family. But I can't think of many pros even using ZLC these days?
  4. Butterfly Harimoto Innerforce ALC Blade - April 2019

You say "lots of players use ZLC", but if it's supposed to be better/newer/more expensive/bigger sweetspot than ALC, why isn't every new kid on the block using it, and why haven't the older generation switched (appreciate this will be down to preference). ALC still dominates in the pros.
  5. Improve my FH topspin

OK, I understand what you are saying. It's very hard to compare playing levels of people you see online. If a junior (or adult), had been playing for a year, but been having regular coaching - They would be at a higher level. If someone was playing for a year with no coaching, no looking on...
  6. Butterfly Harimoto Innerforce ALC Blade - April 2019

I believe it's the IF ALC The ALC.S has a smaller head size (157 X 150) and a thinner core (5.5mm vs 6.0mm of the Harimoto) I believe the IF ALC is around 5.9mm.
  7. Butterfly Harimoto Innerforce ALC Blade - April 2019

I've touched on this in a few other threads, but felt like it deserved it's own dedicated thread. Harimoto (love him or hate him), is likely to be a dominant force of table tennis over the next 20 years or so. Butterfly being Butterfly, are likely to tag along for the ride, and make the most...
  8. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Christ, some of the old folk in the UK would have a heart attack at that. Some people call a let if there's someone in their eye-line moving about behind the court! You couldn't get more English if you tried.......
  9. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I've never understood why the Japanese tournaments don't have barriers between the tables? Doesn't the ball from the adjacent tables come over and interrupt play quite a lot?
  10. Whats the difference between the zjk alc and the zjk zlc and the szlc

I can see where you are going with that, but there are tangible advancements with each new Apple release. The processors get quicker, more RAM, better speed across the OS’s etc etc. Rebranding a blade that has existed for many years, sticking a new players name on it, and changing the...
  11. WHY do we select WHAT for equipment when a player begins TT? What's a "Right" answer?

Hell of a post that I won’t be able to respond to properly on my phone [emoji3] In the UK, the Primorac All round and Sriver 1.9 on both sides is the coaches best freind for a beginner whose past the early stage, and starting to have one to one, or more advanced group coaching. I feel the...
  12. Improve my FH topspin

In the UK you can play in a league at any ability level. Right now, you’d be in the bottom league most likely, but that’s to be expected after only a year of playing. The more you can play, the better you’ll get. The top spin video from Yogi is a good place to start.
  13. Improve my FH topspin

I would buy yourself some plastic balls for match practice. The orange ones are likely the old celluloid balls. As for footwork drills, there are a number good ones to look at online - But the best thing to do in my opinion is to try and replicate it in training and matches. As for your...
  14. Improve my FH topspin

Hey @Ilcane1 - I'm not sure which one you are from the video (I hadn't seen your previous videos which now seem to have been removed). But both players are relying mostly on their arm to make the swing - Not the body and legs. The power and spin comes from the knee bend, the torso twist and...
  15. H3Neo and Primorac Carbon

For you? Sriver or something slower.
  16. Help me find a new blade!

What level do you play at?
  17. H3Neo and Primorac Carbon

I personally think you'll regret the move to the Primorac. I don't think you'll instantly feel strokes are easier - If anything, you'll find it harder to keep the ball on the table. Unless you are dropping back significantly from the table, you'll find a close/mid distance loop will be similar...
  18. Can we tell how popular TT is

Looks like it's the same as Tin-Tin Ho? There will always be difficulties in getting a true rating - Especially with improving younger players. Take Ruby Chan for example. This year she lost to someone in my league who was ranked below her. Despite that person having an inflated ranking...
  19. Can we tell how popular TT is

It looks like she's around 2500 - Although it's hard to tell how accurate it is (the website is playing up at the moment). You often find juniors are quite significantly ahead of their true position. The system also benefits people who simply play matches. There are a number of people who are...
  20. H3Neo and Primorac Carbon

Do you have a rough level you play at? Can you loop consistently on the backhand and forehand? At a guess, I'd say the Primorac Carbon will be too quick. Where are you struggling at the moment? What parts of your game are you looking to improve? I wouldn't advise anything quicker than the...
