  2. Slow down, you are not a pro...

I try and finish rallies at the 1st opportunity, or what I perceive as the 1st opportunity, which is what my coaches are questioning, is my decision making correct? Am I in the best position to try and kill the ball off? 30% of the time probably not, the other 70% is sort of split (especially on...
  3. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I ‘ve played a few training sessions recently, but tonight is the 1st night back for one of the clubs I play for, looking forward to seeing everyone again!! I’ve also booked myself onto a level one coaches course!!! Roll on end of July for the 1st session, followed by 8 weeks coursework with the...
  4. Xiom Tau II

Hi Yogi, Have you tried boosting Tau 2 ? Cheers.
  5. Haifu Whale 2 & Imperial Factor X rubbers,

The shop I bought it from had it in the ‘clearance’ section so it was likely an old sheet!! Played very fast on the ZJ ALC, sponge has a very good catapult effect. Shame the top sheet had little tackiness!!
  6. Glue advice please

I’ve used Revo 3 in normal and medium viscosity, found both to be good. Yesterday I glued and cut a sheet of Haifu Whale 2, which comes with a thick glue layer already on the sponge, factory applied. After cutting, I peeled the glue off of the unwanted cut rubber, this glue came off the sponge...
  7. Haifu Whale 2 & Imperial Factor X rubbers,

Hi Everyone, Just glued a sheet of Haifu Whale 2 (Tension) & Imperial Factor X Spin offence onto a Zhang Jike ALC blade 😀 Haifu Whale 2 (Tension) You can see the thick layer of glue/booster instructions on the packaging said to - remove both protective film layers, the one on the sponge side...
  8. EJs who have found the perfect setup?

I had to get some reasonable balls, so plumped for a couple of boxes of Double Fish V40’s, so went onto Bribar site and ordered them, trouble is a sheet of ‘imperial’ factor X spin offensive version and a sheet of Haifu Whale 2 appeared in the basket as well !!! How they got in there is somewhat...
  9. Advance Sample NEW Nexy Rubber - Etika

Hi, which do you prefer, the 47 or 51 degree sponge? As you are probably aware I struggle with 50+ degree grippy type rubbers, no matter which blade it’s on !!! Wondering if the Etika is somewhat forgiving? Cheers.
  10. EJs who have found the perfect setup?

Sort of, hahaha!! I haven’t served enough time being an EJ yet!!! Blades have been whittled down to Donic Appelgren Dotec Control and Nittaku Acoustic (all wood or inner, more likely to be all wood) As for rubbers R48 BH / Rakza Z FH or BH although Victas Triple Double Extra and Tau 2 are in...
  11. Slow down, you are not a pro...

Hi, This is sort of similar to my last post on the ‘Victas Triple Extra/ Triple Double Extra’ thread, The TE/TD rubbers, especially the TD are closer to H3 and the same effort increase is required away from the table. As Yogi pointed out, the rubbers available make it easier to play away from...
  12. Slow down, you are not a pro...

Cheers BB, Great to get an expert evaluation, I was hoping you would see this thread and correct my very basic attempt!! What I was trying to convey is that the faster equipment is seen to be important, because the difference in speed increases at lower speed levels are sort of more dramatic...
  13. Victas Triple Double Extra & Triple Extra Rubbers

This week played for 2hrs at the training session, 5 tables, 10 players getting back towards how things were before lockdowns kicked in, great to see everyone again!! less formal training this week, 1st hour was FH/BH topspin loop, serve and return, open up v backspin, away from the table...
  14. Which rubbers do you consider superior to tenergy 05?

Personally, I prefer a softer feel, I have tested T05/19 and T80FX the FX versions use a softer sponge, and looking back, I think that if I had to make a choice between the various Tenergy rubbers I’d go for one of the FX versions. T05/19 are great rubbers and loads of players just wouldn’t give...
  15. Slow down, you are not a pro...

My coach keeps telling me to slow down, don’t try and necessarily finish a point too quickly!! Get the ball in play with a ‘higher quality shot’, this maybe slower, but with good spin and placement, then when you have managed to get a looser ball from your opponent, out manoeuvred them, then go...
  16. Which rubbers do you consider superior to tenergy 05?

'Superior' is a little misleading!! rubbers have different characteristics and can be very similar or complete opposites!! For example, if you asked a defensive chopper if T05 was 'superior' to whatever rubber they were using (for defensive strokes) it may be the case that they would say T05 is...
  17. Xiom tau 2 compared to nittaku sieger pk50

Hi PK50 is faster and bouncier, less tacky, closer to a grippy ESN type rubber than a Tacky Chinese style rubber, throw is slightly higher than Tau 2. I found PK50 was able to produce very high spin serves, spin levels of Tau 2 when serving was almost as high, but sort of less efficient, less...
  18. Help for choosing the equipment

Hi Am I right in thinking that Reactor Tornado V5 is a Tacky Chinese factory boosted rubber?? if you like the tackiness then you could try another rubber with hybrid characteristics, such as Rakza Z, Golden Tango, Victas Triple Extra or Triple Double Extra etc, downside is these are double the...
  19. what's better andro rasanter vs yasaka rakza

Hi, You need to be a little more specific regarding which Rasanter and Rakza rubbers you are referring to!! there are different versions !!
