  1. If you are the CNT boss, what would you do?

I think the next Generation is already coming. LSD will be number 1 soon. I think There is a decline in Chinese table tennis at the youth level if you just look at the number of players playing but they still have a large number of players and great coaching. One disadvantage the Chinese have...
  2. Zhang Jike signs with Donic

They could name the racket "bet on yourself":)
  3. Playing with two black rubbers

Tournament or League match you can't do that but if it is just a social match in the park who cares (unless you are an ass and use an anti and twiddle:))
  4. Manually reshaped STIGA Cybershape.

Why not buy a round blade if you want to play a round blade:)?
  5. Does Lin Yun Ju still have potential to be world no.1?

Not sure. He is a great player but I feel that he doesn't get through with his strengths of serving and playing super aggressive flicks on receive as much as he used to. He obviously is not bad a rallying either but I feel that he doesn't have quite the firepower in the mid distance counter...
  6. What's the next step after fundamentals?

I don't think you need New skills at that point, just execute those fundamentals with more consistency and shot quality. For example it would be nice to have a flick but I don't think it is necessary to improve after 10 months as most players at your level won't be able to serve short...
  7. What is the technical reason Ma Long and top pros love W968?

Not saying you are a bad player but obviously WCQ and ML have insane racket head speed so they might unlock gears in the blade that you (and most other amateurs too) can't unlock.
  8. How to play Penhold looper with long pips bh?

Can you avoid one side and only play one side mostly? if you can pin him on the backhand you could get used to the spin reversal. Or you could play him mostly forehand to forehand (unless he is beating you there too).
  9. How to play Penhold looper with long pips bh?

So basically a penhold Version of Monica Batra? Watch videos of other girls playing her.
  10. which coach is right

Timo boll said he changed his game to less spin and more speed when the ball changed. I also saw a video where he said if he plays a slow loop he likes to hit it low over the net and short instead of high arc and loopy because that would be harder to return
  11. which coach is right

I think the slow loop is still a great shot against lower level opponents because when they block it they can either make an outright mistake or they hit a high arc block that you can kill with they next shot. Against pro players the shot is a dangerous shot because they are great at counter...
  12. Lin shidong forehand

Do you have a good video of a player showing that movement?
  13. Lin shidong forehand

I was talking about the backswing. Any Player of course Bands the arm in the follow through. Lin shidong basically never straightens it. It is not quite as bent as timo or dima but still quite bent.
  14. Lin shidong forehand

Is he playing more of an European style forehand? It seems his arm is pretty bent and not straight like classic Chinese forehand (ma long, wang liqin). Do you think this is a new trend in Chinese table tennis?
  15. Joo Sae Hyuk goofing off with double inverted bat vs Shin Yoo Bin

I guess he easily could have become a top 50 player in the world with attacking. He probably wouldn't have been as good though, don't think he makes a worlds final as an attacker.
  16. Japanese team are paper tigers?

I think the world is getting closer but the Chinese still have 2 big advantages: 1) better coaching and resources to study opponents than anyone else 2) they are less tied in leagues and tournaments and thus have more time to train and practice compared to other players who are very involved...
  17. Does Wang Chuqin deserve the No. 1 Spot in the 2024 Year-End Rankings?

Didn't he slap a player in the face after losing a match many years ago?
  18. Does Wang Chuqin deserve the No. 1 Spot in the 2024 Year-End Rankings?

I think there really wasn't a clear #1. I think the year was like divided in 3 parts. Early WCQ dominated, then FZD and in the end lin shidong. Lebrun was very consistent but he often lost like in the semi or the final and never really went all the way.
  19. How to play at - 0:0 vs once either player hits 7 and how to play at 9 all

There is a military training saying "you don't raise to the occasion, you fall down to your training". That means it seems like the greats have an extra gear for important points but more likely they just get less bad at those points than average players who tend to get tight and nervous. I...
  20. Playing to Win vs Playing Your Own Game – Mental Crisis!?

My take is ideally you want to use your strengths and play your own game, most of the time that will lead to success if you are the better player or at least at the same level. However if you get beaten at your own game you obviously need to change something or you will lose. So my plan A...
