  1. Dilemma with Random-MultiBall

Very helpful comments, and I'm taking all this into consideration, thank you everybody.
  2. Dilemma with Random-MultiBall

Yea, we have done this a few times and it's gone well. Mostly because I can regroup after a failed ball, it's not just instant when theres another ball on me when we do this.
  3. Dilemma with Random-MultiBall

Interesting, you're definitely right on that. When I start and I'm getting the balls on the table well, it's with short compact strokes. Once I start missing I'm also extending my stroke and trying to go through it more. Just accepting that I'll have to change my way of thinking just for one...
  4. Dilemma with Random-MultiBall

I believe the reason we're doing this drill is to work on reacting to various balls, we definitely run more patterned multi-ball drills than random. Surely the reason for this drill is to work on reactions, I can't think of another reason. Changing the way I look at the drill is going to be...
  5. Dilemma with Random-MultiBall

I've come across a problem recently with doing Random multi-ball drills with my coach. This is when the coach will give you backspin, high balls, topspin balls, no spin, quick, slow, short, long just randomly from their bucket of balls. All goes well until I miss one ball, after I miss one ball...
  6. Reputable equipment suppliers that we've used as buyers

I kept ordering because I thought maybe it was a quality control issue or something, then moved on to try other brands. I've heard good things from them and shipping has always worked well for me through them. When I was a very new player EJing, the first thing I ordered from them was a TG3...
  7. Guide: Rubber cut to absolute perfection !

The knife needs to be pretty sharp for some rubbers. That's why I use a xacto knife, every time I cut i just toss the blade and get a pack of 5 replacement blades for $1.50
  8. Guide: Rubber cut to absolute perfection !

I've seen people cut perfectly with scissors as well as some types of blades. I use a xacto knife myself, and yes I have cut the the wood of my blade a bit before. Just need to be careful. I also dip the blade in water to reduce surface tension.
  9. Guide: Rubber cut to absolute perfection !

After cutting 10 or so rubbers you'll be that good too ;) but not at that speed...
  10. backhand with forehand side (orthodox grip)

there are a few strong advantages of the seemiller grip i've noticed. firstly they block like champions. Secondly they don't have that middle elbow position where you have to decide on forehand or backhand and move to the correct place that shakehand players struggle with and get jammed.
  11. backhand with forehand side (orthodox grip)

Do you struggle to play against most antispin/long pip players? I tend to enjoy playing against them more than inverted on both sides.
  12. anti topspin and long pips

should post the video with oliver (pushblocker) where his opponent just served it really high to his backhand.
  13. Jan Ove Waldner to retire on Thursday!

  15. Set-up

if you don't want advice why ask. get a viscaria or a carbonado if thats what you've set your mind on.
  16. Reputable equipment suppliers that we've used as buyers

I honestly don't believe I've ever received a real product from ttnpp.
  17. backhand with forehand side (orthodox grip)

I played with a 12 year old kid in indiana a couple months ago using this grip. He was already around 2000 USATT rated.
  18. My unorthodox Shakehand hold

I've talked to my coach various times about my grip, which she HATES on my forehand and wants me to change. But she also says what's comfortable for a player would probably be better. She's accepted me using this grip for both fh and bh as I'm much more relaxed with it and if I don't have to...
  19. My unorthodox Shakehand hold

you're very right that it is a backhand oriented grip. backhand loops and flicks are fairly easy for me and i blame the grip because of it. When I've tried to switch to a more traditional grip my backhand suffered too much. The reason I posted this thread is because I was talking to NL about...
  20. My unorthodox Shakehand hold

the composition of the blade is the composition of a nittaku violin, very soft and flexible. but its custom made by the great Ross Leidy.
