  1. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

A bit overshadowed by the WCQ/Lind match was the Mori/JNY match right before it. Really great match with an exciting finish. Mori made more than a few incredible plays to get it to deuce in the 5th.
  2. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

Wow. WCQ looked in form last round styling on Shinozuka. Maybe the pressure along with the disruptive spin and timing really did a number on him in this match. Best part of the win was Lind lying on the floor shouting WTF! to his coach in disbelief. Lind is on the short list of players I...
  3. Proposal for serve rule change in doubles

Really like this idea. Doubles pairs can have more set plays to employ and tactics against opponents become a bigger part of game. Seems like it adds a lot more variety to the game without any huge detriment. I guess there is a second or two extra in positioning for both sides when server sets...
  4. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

I'll go ahead and say that's a bad call. Nobody even noticed that it came loose and especially not Bergstrom because it was impossible for her to see it. The ref literally called stop and raised his hand AFTER it was clear Bergstrom sent the ball wide and out of play.
  5. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

Think Kamal lost to Thakkar recently in UTT and maybe some other player (I forget who) who is much lower ranked. He's still very good but I believe he's slowing down. He was rightfully the favorite, but 10-1 favorite is too wide and based on his past achievements rather than his current state.
  6. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

Big upset with Adi Sareen beating Archanta. Sareen was a 10 to 1 underdog. Could've been foreseen. Archanta slowing down in his 40s, Sareen rapidly improving at his age.
  7. Friendship 729 battle 3

Yes. There was a dark pattern on the protective sheet that perfectly matched the greyed scuffed pattern on the rubber.
  8. What cheap balls can I get for training?

Sanwei ABS club balls are dirt cheap and last quite a while. Good value imo
  9. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

I'm digging this Chinese crowd in China a lot more than the usual traveling SYS/WCQ groupies we usually see. They cheer for foreign players like Felix Lebrun and are more reactive to good points instead of being dead silent unless their player wins a point.
  10. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

What countries have table 1 available to watch on Youtube?
  11. The controversy around Wang Chuqin and WTT

It's because the WTT replied with a laughing emoji to fan comments saying WCQ was #32 ranked, because he lost in the R32 in the Olympics. So some intern is currently in trouble with the bosses over an emoji.
  12. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

Kaufmann just couldn't figure out Liu's tomahawk/reverse tomahawk serve combo at all. Felt like Liu had like 80% ace rate on her serve in the first 2 games.
  13. Banish long pips

I can see both sides of the argument. I didn't encounter pips on the regular until a couple months ago when I finally found an air conditioned (barely) club in Vietnam with a good amount of old men and women using pips and exclusively using illegal serves. So losing to these people who...
  14. Advice for beginner/intermediate

Probably because he's an "extra offensive" comedian.
  15. TT shops in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Phnom Penh

Sorry that's in Hanoi which is a city I don't usually visit voluntarily. You might want to ask some of our other Vietnamese users like @longle
  16. Battle of the best FH rubbers

For me the topsheet came clean off the sponge. Both sponge and topsheet were in great condition despite 4 or 5 months of use. Wish I had taken a picture.
  17. Battle of the best FH rubbers

You might want to give the new batches of LAC a try since it's looking more likely (to me at least) that they've fixed the poor topsheet adhesion issue. If the bond is as strong as the new Rxton 9 and 3 Blue sheets I've gotten, we might be even able to safely boost it.
  18. TT shops in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Phnom Penh

Take Sports specializes in Japanese brands. Their Nittaku and Butterfly products are usually cheaper than what you'd pay in the Western world and used to be cheaper than Japan too until the yen took a nosedive. They have stores in Saigon and Hanoi. Check out http://bongban.asia
  19. Experience with some other Loki rubbers - Arthur China, GTX Pro (inc)

I ordered the usual Arthur China. I never saw this packaging before. I got two that lasted from January until now. 50-60 hrs on each. I transferred one over to a new racket and noticed it was heavily reversed domed so I put a thin layer of Seamoon on it to flatten it out. That one lasted a...
