  1. WTT Contender Lima 2024 Aug 21 - 25

Is this the longest name in WTT history? That's just plain excessive lol
  2. Paris Olympic Games 2024

Even if it's not totally surprising, it's still pretty damn depressing. Weird mixed messaging by NK to their own athletes, encouraging unified teams in the past (even as recent as 2018) and now punishing even a selfie. These athletes deserve better.
  3. Big Dipper, Loki Arthur China experience.

I've had a lot of luck with Loki too. Have used 7 sheets and only 1 of them was bad because (partly my fault since I boosted it twice). LAC and Rxton 3 Blue have been the best performers. Over 50 hrs+ on a few of them with little discernable drop in performance. They just won't die. 729 has...
  4. Heard about this lately.... SYS vs CM

Yeah I think that's what got people interested in the topic to begin with. I know nothing about CM aside from watching her play for the past couple of years and getting the impression that she's maybe the most fierce competitor on the women's team. She finds a way to win when it counts and has...
  5. Heard about this lately.... SYS vs CM

As was mentioned by @NextLevel, pictures absolutely doesnt do justice to the atmosphere. We should all know by now from life on the internet that still frames withe don't tell the whole story or can be taken out of context to completely misrepresent the whole story. If you can post the...
  6. Heard about this lately.... SYS vs CM

This doesn't make much sense. There's dozens of situations in other sports where a country takes both the top 2 spots. In almost every situation, the team is excited and cheers both players. This includes China. For example in diving where China is just as dominant as TT, the coaches are...
  7. Heard about this lately.... SYS vs CM

Be careful, the last time I posted something like this in the Olympics thread, people came to tell me that either (1) there was nothing abnormal about the CNT reaction at all or (2) it's shameful to spread conspiracy theories. None of them will provide a reasonable explanation for the clearly...
  8. Can I still re-use this blade?

Yinhe, Sanwei, and Stuor blades are cheaper with better quality control. Maybe ditch DHS. Unless we're talking about 301 series or the Fang Bo 2, their lower priced blades aren't considered a great value.
  9. Shakehand advanced grip as taught by China renowned coach.🤓

Yeah you can really how loose Truls' grip is when he's serving. He actually has a looser version of the "advanced" version that Igor posted. It's a bit unique because most players serve with the last 3 fingers curled on the BH rubber. His grip is around the handle still but loose enough where...
  10. Shakehand advanced grip as taught by China renowned coach.🤓

I'm not anywhere near advanced so would you just recommend I stay with the tight grip? I've been practicing staying a bit looser (maybe the 80% like you say) and only tighten on impact but it's not had much effect so I'm willing to try something new. I guess this is more an issue of building...
  11. Shakehand advanced grip as taught by China renowned coach.🤓

Maybe the idea is that keeping the middle finger on the wing like in picture 2 is just a good cue for leaving some wiggle room for the blade to move in your hand. You can really eliminate all space for the blade to move around if using grip in picture 1. At least for me, I was guilty of choking...
  12. Shakehand advanced grip as taught by China renowned coach.🤓

Was a bit skeptical but hit a few balls with this grip and there was a pretty significant increase in spin and shot quality for both FH and BH loops. Almost certainly not going to remember to use this grip when actually in a game situation but it might be worth starting to train this way.
  13. Inner Fiber Dilemma.

Hinoki is way softer than limba. Maybe the softest wood outer you typically get on a blade. Stiffness is about longitudinal resilience of the whole blade. Here's a helpful visual from SDC: https://www.sdcttblades.com/nerdy-stuff/flex-vs-hardness
  14. Diluting Glue with water

Be careful dilluting water based glue too much. I did this one time for a DHS No. 15 glue that got too thick. Using 2 layers on rubber and 1 layer on the blade, the contact felt hollow and empty. If you dillute your glue, maybe you have to use more layers and wait longer for all the water to...
  15. Diluting Glue with water

I guess leave the bottle open so that the liquids evaporate. The problem is if there's anything important in the glue that evaporates faster than water. Maybe not the case with WBG.
  16. The beginning of a journey...

If you're a beginner, don't pigeonhole yourself into a style like you are doing now. If you haven't learned FH or attacking yet then learn them. Once you've developed most of the necessary strokes, then maybe see what works best for you and lean into them. That will take a long time.
  17. Experience with some other Loki rubbers - Arthur China, GTX Pro (inc)

Are you boosting the R9 and comparing it to the boosted H3.
  18. [WRM] The "breaking" backhand and other types of topspin backhands

I was glad to see that video Coach Meng released recently about the punchy type of BH since I was doing those unintentionally anyway and thought it was suboptimal form instead of a useful variation.
  19. Friendship 729 battle 3

Was a little confused reading this. Are you meaning to say that boosting with 2 layers of Haifu turned the B3 into a new rubber? And when you say it's better than H3 OS 39, are you saying that it's better than boosted or unboosted H3?
  20. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I finally figured out the weight transfer thing too recently by using the cable machine at the gym with the help of this video. Basically as a right hander, I grab the cable handle with my left hand, then move out to where the cable is pulling my body to the left. With resistance, it makes...
