  1. Ridiculous double smash by Timo Boll!

Yeah - I remember seeing that and wondering how many players in the world would have the balance to miss the smash and recover to play the ball... truly a wonder of the table tennis world.

Red side is inverted. Black is long pips.
  4. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Lol - nah - I have all the matches. I was asked not to release some and I also want to keep those including teenagers private. So I will release over time as I have time to title and edit.
  5. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

One of my eight losses: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EoG0FRUWE4Q One of my twelve wins: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B60SAKRHPTU I played way too many matches.
  6. Hurricane 3 with Mazunov

I am playing wth a Mazunov on and off now. It is truly a fantastic blade, far more control than you would expect for a blade so fast. I am not bold enough to reduce the head size but I wish I could do so and test. I suspect that I might develop a setup with short pips on the backhand that...
  7. Hinoki deeper study

I am fairly sure there are already eco-friendly blades - too late but nice try.:p
  8. Good Blade for MX-P

The Samsonov Force Pro Blue Edition is a good start in this direction (I am the only person I know who dislikes the Black Edition). So is the Xiom Extreme S. But it all depends on what the OP is looking for, I actually know OP fairly well for a TT player and have seen him play, he is going to...
  9. Good Blade for MX-P

Yes, but he coaches a lot of people who play the way you want to play. Which of them play like you? Which of them does he want you to play like? Questions like that take you in the right direction. Even discontinued blades have modern day comparables in terms of spin and speed.
  10. Good Blade for MX-P

The truth is that you should ask your coach what blade he recommends. I would say simply use a conventional offensive Euro blade like a Boll ALC or Viscaria, but if those are still too stiff, then it means that your coach is asking you to really slow it down and go to something like an...
  11. Hinoki deeper study

Primorac Carbon is a Cypress/Hinoki outer ply, as are Amultart, Garaydia, Iolite, Schlager Carbon, Gergely etc. All those blades did fine. IT all comes down to vogue and some players prefer the harder contact of koto, limba etc.

Here are my recordings (unedited) of the NA Teams finals - the official recordings with commentary are probably far better so no need to watch these unless you are really bored. I will post some of my losses later. I had a really tough one where I feel I should not have eaten before playing -...
  13. Coaching Adult Learners

That's not my point at all, my point is that you are taking away certain things from adults including backhand looping specially vs heavy topspin at mid distance if you give them LP, backhand looping is not about hitting the ball hard but an approach to playing. You are also taking away the...
  14. Coaching Adult Learners

TBH, You are one of the adults who has embraced the kind of training regimen directed towards looping juniors and has improved while doing it, partly because you are putting in the hours. Most people need more subtle methods.

  16. The New World Ranking System Explained - January 2018!

This is what happens on the ATP tour currently btw. You beat Roger Federer or Rafa Nadal, lose in the next round, you get exactly the same impact on your ranking as if you beat any other two players.
  17. Coaching Adult Learners

This would have capped my game at maybe 1500. It's much better to explain to the adult like a long pips player once told me that you will improve your touch and your spin read as you play more and more and these are the things that are most susceptible to experience and practice.
  18. Slow down a blade or speed up the rubbers?

A lot of this depends on how you play, how much you practice and what your strengths and weaknesses are. The one thing I will say is that the plastic ball is place a higher premium on speed and a lower premium on spin and power. It is harder to draw errors just by slowly spinning the ball...
  19. Swedish Open 2017

These guys glue very frequently and boost as well. If you do so, then change your blade too.
  20. Coaching Adult Learners

Touch shots, including blocks and pushes, require more racket head acceleration than you realize even with grip pressure changes. Decelerating the ball needs fast hands.
