  1. Forehand loop internal shoulder rotation

My shoulder moves forward and up some naturally if I'm loose. Isn't it basically required for a safe follow-through? At least, my elbow doesn't feel too good swinging hard and trying to stop against the inertia.
  2. Forehand loop internal shoulder rotation

I wasn't doing that exactly, but I had this "idea" of rotation of the arm that was similar, and I think you can guess the rest. I think if people know what they are doing exactly, well, they know what they are doing exactly.
  3. Forehand loop internal shoulder rotation

It doesn't put a lot of stress on the shoulder if done properly. I have firsthand experience with improper technique, and you can end up doing some strange things with your arm and back if you don't know what you're doing. I wouldn't advise anyone to try to actively perform those kinds of...
  4. Forehand loop internal shoulder rotation

Seeing as I injured myself due to this kind of motion, I've largely went towards a very straight forearm snap. No arm or shoulder injuries or even soreness since. I'd listen to @Der_Echte
  5. How do I serve a heavy backspin serve with good forward momentum?

@fais Huh? It's off the table and half-long, so with enough racket head speed and coming a bit from the side... Of course, it's not a LEGAL serve, so it's pretty terrible. This video might help the OP.
  6. ITTF seems to abuse power

Yeah, we gotta take this into account. I'm not sure what the content guidelines say about private videos either. I've found it a bit weird how people can record matches from a TV-feed or stream, then sell them. How does that even work if it's not even their footage?
  7. ITTF seems to abuse power

Of course I do need to mention that I am no economical expert: sometimes company level decisions are hard to understand for the consumer and might seem wrong, but you can't always do the ideal solution. I'm not a YouTube content creator either, so I don't really know how it is. I do think ITTF...
  8. ITTF seems to abuse power

@EmRatThich Yeah, you seem to be right. I'm not sure we should be surprised to hear ITTF is making decisions that only take their own benefit into account. ITTF is, after all, a profit organization: not a table tennis organization.
  9. ITTF seems to abuse power

You pick up a few terms here and there over the years. ;)
  10. Why does table tennis seem to be very predictable at the HIGHEST level?

@Shuki Although you should probably read the OP first before posting , I do need to say that lower FPS is just less information in the same time. I think a decent level of table tennis would be nearly unplayable at 60FPS due to the lack of information. It's easier to track at 60FPS...
  11. ITTF seems to abuse power

YouTube content creators have got the shaft the past few years in terms of income, allegedly, so that's probably true.
  12. ITTF seems to abuse power

Let me guess, ITTF also receives monetization funds from those videos.
  13. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

That makes more sense. Make your flick stronger so the counterattack doesn't blast past you, and make your block/counterloop stronger to counter their counter.
  14. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

@Takkyu_wa_inochi I understand your thought, but isn't that too theoretical and rooted in absolutes? No two people play the absolute exact same way with the same shot placement, quality and habits and whatnot, so why do you think you should play the exact same against everyone? Say they keep...
  15. Bodybuilding in Tabletennis !

So because I am posting in this thread, you don't want to bump a separate, relevant thread and direct the OP there? Sometimes I don't understand your logic in the slightest.
  16. Bodybuilding in Tabletennis !

@ttmonster Point out where I contradicted myself. Oh, so for example, doing floor serves to strengthen the hand muscles for a better serve will make you lose feeling? You're "pretty sure"? Why will you lose feeling? Will you damage the nerves? Cause scar tissue? What is it?
  17. Bodybuilding in Tabletennis !

Many good posts have been made about the title and I think it's been answered. However some people think that OP shouldn't stay completely away from weightlifting, and that is why the discussion is where it is.
  18. Bodybuilding in Tabletennis !

@ttmonster Yes, I have felt a clear diminished feeling AFTER a workout. That is why you train with weights after you have been to the table. Like I said, the nervous system is very taxed after a workout, and your muscles are tired as well. Holding the racket can be difficult. This is not what...
  19. Bodybuilding in Tabletennis !

Of course, if you for example only do bicep curls, and build up large biceps, but you have a very imbalanced arm/back/chest/shoulder area, then that is not good in general and will hamper your table tennis. I don't think we are talking about that. Just by playing and swinging you will build up...
