  1. Developing player with some potential :)

If you play 6 months, I think it is pretty impressive. Keep up. I like that you play relaxed, you don't rush, there is almost some calmness :- ) and fluidity. I think you will progress a lot. Following is my interpretation, take it with a grain of salt. You know my approx. level. I'm not a...
  2. Rich highlights, match and training videos

Yeah, beautiful rallies... Really dream training, you also have a good hall, a lot of place. At the end it seemed to me, Antonis was more tired, and a bit more passive. Is it usually so, or sometimes he's the more active one?
  3. Rich highlights, match and training videos

Did Antonis play tennis earlier, or is it just my imagination? :-)
  4. Why do I get so nervous when playing a match?

Ultimately, we want to come to the match with inner peace. Some sort of balance, or inner fixed point, to which you can always come back. Both Richie and Victor are describing it, that is the approach from the "positive" side, and it is the more important one. I want to give the approach from...
  5. Developing player with some potential :)

I guess my idea about correlating by percentile is just a wet-dream. I think it would require that the countries have some transparent global list of all registered players, like in my country. There is some 17150 registered players in CR. My percentile is 85, which means there is 2400 players...
  6. Developing player with some potential :)

Ranking reflects the level. I want to improve my level, and the ranking is a form of a proof. And so I want to improve my ranking, because it proves to me, that I've improved my level. That's the reason. I'm saying it, because there are people who like to say: "Ranking (or ELO) doesn't matter."...
  7. Developing player with some potential :)

I see. As I said in my 1st post, the setup should not hold you back. I'm not saying have a slower setup, because I have a mindset of winning matches or having less errors or whatnot, as dingyibvs (with really all due respect) said. But because I think it will help in learning the strokes and...
  8. Developing player with some potential :)

You don't have to boost it. I personally do boost, but I also don't find joy there, and so I don't boost often. I've recently re-boosted my NHP3TB, because I felt it was more dead than initially, it graduated with time. (It reacted beautifully, but that is not important.) I think other player...

  10. Can a commercial H3 Neo come close to a H3 blue sponge?

My experience is that the commercial H3s were simply lower quality. The top-sheet was always feelably softer. It was also more glossy, np with that, I'm just mentioning. The sponge felt generally softer than declared, and was also more fragile, and could break when regluing. E.g. now I have...
  11. Table tennis is the most difficult and frustrating sport I have ever played

Yes, you have a point here. In my exp. it is so, that the players who use LP/SP/Anti are usually (not always) older players, who might also have other handicaps. But even if it were not so, the fight spirit, which we should embrace anyway, would not let us complain that we lost, because we...
  12. Table tennis is the most difficult and frustrating sport I have ever played

I understand your frustration, but I think it gets better with time. It seems to me, that while it is hard initially to play against long-pips, short-pips or anti rubbers, they actually are still in big disadvantage. So if I see it from this side, I just hope they will not ban inverted rubbers...
  13. Developing player with some potential :)

Hi, imo, you should not feel the need to hold yourself back, the setup should not be that fast. Or from the other side, ideally the setup is so slow, that you really go for the strokes. That's good for the stroke development, to use the body more, imo. We all progress differently, but 6 months...
  14. The impact of spin on dignics 09c and fastarc G1 with angles calculated [video]

I was thinking that if that is the objective, then many same shots should be fired on the 2 rubbers, to have some averaging for that particular shot, with intended speed, rps, angle. And then do the same for another shot. So far it seems there is too few data, if I understand correctly. Another...
  15. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

The excitement when a boosted rubber wiggles, full of energy, in hands like gelatine... ONLY 1 other thing in the world wiggles better than that! Don't ban me...
  16. How Did I Win or Lose a Match?

Hi Wrighty67, an idea for an exercise. The usual FH drive, where is the weight? On the right foot, on the left foot, or somewhere balanced going from right to left and back? I'd argue that usually we could say the weight is more or less balanced, going from right to left a bit and then back. You...

  19. Welcome to TableTennisDaily 3.0 - Bug Report

Thanks Dan. First it blocked me when I tried to give a like to a post. Incidentally it also blocked me when I tried to give a like to your/this post :-). I found the site doesn't allow me to open more than N tabs. When I open the site, I see new posts, open them in tabs, then go read them...
  20. Welcome to TableTennisDaily 3.0 - Bug Report

Yesterday and today the site blocked me out several times. I'd say the recent changes should be reverted, it is much worse than before. Seeing a lot of spam sucks, but being blocked sucks much more. Am I the only one experiencing this?
