I think for H3 to shine it needs a decent boost, particularly 40/41 deg. It just adds a whole new dimension to it - still not as bouncy off the bat as H8 (2 layers boost) but plenty fast enough.

I’m almost certain the only hurricane rubbers that are factory tuned are labelled “Neo’ and come in a vacuum sealed plastic envelope - which H8 does not.

Edit - I see you have specified in the OP that you want all wood. You may want to look at an all wood blade if "feel" is your goal - a decent 5 ply is a good bet (there are many out there..)

I have used a few - Donic Bluefire M1, Dignics 05, Fastarc C1 most recently.

DHS 301x is a good match for Hurricane type rubbers.

Not my experience at all interestingly, H8-80 was probably the spiniest rubber I’ve used on BH.

Fair enough, I think it may soften a little as you hit it.

I recently tried the same combination - G1 is harder for sure but nowhere near as hard as the D09C or H3 pro 40 deg I had used previously, so actually it felt reasonably lively to me. C1 is obviously softer and is a different sponge by the look and feel of it.

I have really enjoyed Hurricane 8-80 37d on BH - very spinny and plenty fast enough. Not too hard for a developing BH stroke either.

Great post - I think it's very useful to have this info to hand and for others to add. I have used H8-80 and still have it on my BH - great rubber IMO. By the way, I don't think that H8 comes with any boost from the factory?
