Thanks Richie - understood. My issue is that, looking at the video, that I am clearly swinging around myself too much and hooking the ball - hence issues vs backspin or when I want a straighter shot. To my eyes, it also looks "wrong" and not in balance.

I hear you - much as I like the Chinese FH style, it's probably a step too far right now.. I think if I aim to limit my follow through to my left eye and make that the target, then I have something to visualise and aim at so to speak. Many thanks.

Hi all Just a quick update on my thoughts having now tried both these combinations on my two HL5X blades. I tried the Dignics combo first and played for about 3h with it - it was fairly easy to use and I felt that both rubbers matched my style of play well. The D09C certainly feels pretty hard...

I have two HL5 - one is 89g and the other 91g and there is little I can tell between them, to me they are both right around where I like them and lead to a total bat weight of 193-196g. They don't feel heavy to me and are very balanced.

They’re on the red data card that comes with an HL5 or 5X i had wondered what they meant until Duke translated.

Thanks - I have used 38d 8-80 and liked it, very spinny but my sheet was also very heavy at 58g which wasn't great. I have another 37d sheet I will try.

That's how I read it too - "rebound attenuation %" so higher = more dwell. Hopefully Duke will chime in and clarify!

I haven’t played with a std HL5 but certainly the X has a muted feel that allows a very soft touch when required.
