  1. Japan Open 2018 - a beginning of the new trend?

NL is exactly right. Watch video of Gatien (still my favorite FH of all time). This is not new. It always works. But it is not easy to perfect.
  2. Japan Open 2018 - a beginning of the new trend?

People leap to grand conclusions from limited data and one or two matches. ITTF has been using 40+ balls since 2014. ABS versions are if anything closer to celluloid. What always happens is new great players emerge. Harimoto would be just as good with celluloid. Some people here struggle...
  3. Japan Open 2018

What an amazing tournament. Who would have predicted any of it?
  4. Ma Long or Tomokazu Harimoto... Who you picking?

    Is that last post sarcastic?
  5. How i block someone steal my vidoes on youtube sid

That is a good point. ITTF has been horrible at promoting the sport and their ineffective use of Youtube is a case in point. I subscribe to a youtube channel devoted to road cycling (Global Cycling Network) with over 1 million followers that produces 2-3 excellent videos per day about races...
  6. Timo boll Alc Or Timo boll Spirit?

Post was from 5 years ago. I am confident in what I wrote then because I had both blades in front of me at the time. Now? I don't know. I haven't touched newer versions of these blades in a very long time.
  7. How i block someone steal my vidoes on youtube sid

Your videos don't seem to contain original material. So is Emrat stealing your stolen videis?
  8. How to get a sponsorship

Easy answer. 1. You have to be good. 2. You have to ask.
  9. New Service tactics with the plastic balls

Yes but by now dumb holdouts only have themselves to blame. Probably ITTF should have decertified celluoid a year or two ago. But the insistence of some national federations and I individual club's to persist with this is a self-inflicted wound hard to blame on ITTF at this late date.
  10. New Service tactics with the plastic balls

In the my part of the US club's don't provide balls. So here you would not find celluloid ball in use for a few years now. People buy their balls and try to use good ones. Essentially all tournaments here now use seamless or ABS balls of some sort.
  11. New Service tactics with the plastic balls

Same tactics exactly. You just have to learn to execute them with new balls. It takes time to figure it out. Know that opponents will find anything you do with serves a little less difficult to deal with so be extra ready for the third ball. They've been out since 2014 and it is now nearly...
  12. Time Boll & Patrick Franziska using Black side for FH

I used red on FH forever Bryce, T05). With Karis M I prefer black on FH. I don't think it's all in my head but I can't rule it out. The effect is small if real. This of course means nothing regarding T05. Most people I know using T05 use red on FH.
  13. Serving short with a lot of underspin/backspin

No. There is a universal answer to that. A good serve puts the server in control of the point by evoking a weak return. What causes that does depend on many things. Often this is because it is something other than what it appears to be. A serve with very heavy spin that is obvious is not...
  14. Serving short with a lot of underspin/backspin

So, what makes a serve good?
  15. Serving short with a lot of underspin/backspin

The thing is that once he develops touch and feel to totally control trajectory of serves, it is suddenly easier to learn to vary spin (while disguising it). Converesly without developing that touch and feel he will never generate EFFECTIVE spin. Again, OP should think a bit and write here...
  16. FS: Stiga Alser T-Shirt 1966

I learned to play with a slightly later version of that blade including green Cobra 3*.
  17. World's first? - Inner Textreme blades

It does not have the high frequency vibration dampening that you get with arylate and zylon (or kevlar or other aramids). It has a very different feel, in a lot of ways it is a bit of an old fashioned composite since it is only carbon albeit one with a quite different weave pattern than had...
  18. Why do many pro's apparently hide the ball during services

I tried to do a charitable thing and prevailed on the owner of MyTT to let him back. And the owner agreed. But some things never change.
  19. Serving short with a lot of underspin/backspin

Your serves are horrible. Nobody has ever taught you. You need to start a bit lower down on the technique scale. Don't worry about spin at first. Start by learning to serve anywhere you want on the table. Learn to serve short and low. I repeat. Learn how to get a backspin serve that...
