  1. Should I "upgrade" my all-wood 5-ply Kiso Hinoki?

I have changed from Darker 5P-2A to 7P Carbon because the 7PC is much better for my backhand, it has a larger sweet spot and a better stability. If the OP has a similar problem a change might help. The 7PC is an offensive blade, but by no means as crazy fast as for example Hinoki-Carbon-Kiri...
  2. Darker Hinoki 5p-2a

Yes, indeed, it would be really nice if you wrote a little review. There are only a few reviews on the Darker 2A series/ hinoki blades to be found on the internet…and most of those are about the 7t, the Esteem and the Speed 90. So would be highly appreciated. I‘m planning to write a longer one...
  3. Latest T05fx alternative?

Sponge hardness of T05Fx is 42,5 on the ESN scale. There are many alternatives with a similar sponge hardness of 43/42,5. A lot of brands offer rubbers in this range, Yasaka Rakza X soft (42,5) is a good one.
  4. Tenergy 25

Review by 'MK73' on item 'Tenergy 25'

I used to play with H3 or Skyline 3 prov and changed to this rubber on forehand last year. What I like most about T25 is the controlled catapult and the high and short arc it produces when you loop. Chinese rubbers usually create flat and long curves. I play an aggressive game style close to the...
  5. Tenergy 25 FX

Review by 'MK73' on item 'Tenergy 25 FX'

For me this the most suitable bh rubber I have played so far. I play close to the table with quick third and fifth ball attacks and T25 fx is perfect for this game strategy. It excells on flicks, blocks, short receives and pushes. It’s very also very good bh counter loops and smashes. It is not...
  6. Darker Products

Indeed, yes. 😊 And hinoki blades in general. Tried out quite a few. 7P Carbon is the winner. 😉
  7. Darker Products

The only vintage Darker item I own is a 7P-2A.05 Hinoki blade that has been discontinued from their 2A series for many years now. I think Spinfactory in Germany still has one in stock. It is the slowest and most flexible Darker blade I own.
  8. Darker Products

Nishohi used to have racket cases. I bought several of those. Currently they seem to have run out of them. Only blades and towels left in their shop. Taku, the owner of the shop, is a very friendly guy. Drop him a mail, maybe he can get hold of some racket cases for you, if you are interested...
  9. Darker 5 CNF

Hey Sam, I have, but only now and then. I agree that the blade is very good for blocks, drives and bh punches. It’s fast and has a lot of oomph. I don’t like the short game with it though. As is normal with fast blades it lacks feeling and it’s also not very spinny. I prefer slightly slower and...
  10. Softer rubber or hurricane?

If you like the Joola Rhyzm rubbers, maybe try Rhyzm P for forehand. I think its a bit softer (45), but it has excellent spin, very good for serves and fh loops.
  11. Your Favorite Inner Carbon Blade - SURVEY

Darker Hinoki 7P-2A Carbon. I simply love the feel of this blade, controlled, lively, medium fast, very spinny. After the first full session of playing with it I knew that this was it.
  12. Post your latest EJ purchase

Bought three blades recently: Darker Classic 5, Darker Esteem and Joola Nobilis PBO-C. All three great blades.
  13. Win a Ovtcharov ALC

    11:6 for Dima
  14. Cellulose nanofibre

Still lighter than an allwood blade that has the same power as a special material blade though.
  15. Cellulose nanofibre

Of course you can use hard wood next to the core or underneath the top ply to increase power while maintaining a woody feeling, but when you use CNF you can make a lighter and less chunky blade that has the same (or more) power.
  16. Any thinner blades provide the similar feel as the 1-ply hinoki blade?

Nothing feels like a Speed 90. So multiply Hinoki blades don’t really compare, although they are also stiff, soft and lively. Darker has tried to build blades which are thinner and yet try to come as close as possible to the Speed 90 feeling. Unfortunately all these blades have been...
  17. DHS fans unite!

I have tried nearly all Hurricane 3s (37+39+40 sponge) plus H8 and H8-80 . My favorite was the H3 39 provincial OS. With respect to H3 rubbers the OS sponge gives more feedback in my opinion. However, my favourite DHS rubber is Skyline 3 provincial BS. I prefer it to H3 because the top sheet is...
  18. Best Rubbers for Fan Zhendong ALC

As an advanced beginner you should continue playing with Korbel. Try lighter rubbers if you want. Dont switch to outer ALC, it’s too fast.
  19. Tenergy 64fx

Tenergy 25fx is what you are looking for, softer sponge, the best Tenergy for short game, pushes, blocks and flicks. It also has a low throw angle. It doesnt feel too soft because of the large flat pimples.
  20. Darker 5 CNF

I have bought one myself now and had the opportunity to play with it for two long sessions. First of all the Classic 5 CNF is a kind of hinoki hybrid blade, a bit like the Darker Esteem. The core and the top plies of the Classic 5 are made of hinoki, the second ply is CNF and the medial ply is...
