  1. Saudi Smash 2024

Ionescu is top German league player but that is as good as it gets for qualifiers coming into the smash and Drinkhall has a chance. Drinkhall won all qualifier three matches as rhe better player watching them to my mind and would have been unlucky to falter at the end vs Rolland (the match with...
  2. Why no one plays Butterfly Tamca 5000 blades

Tampa 5000 is very stiff and hard compared to the ALC or ZlC composites, that is why you don't see it used as often. Most people who like the T5000 blades but are looping focused would do better with an SZLC or now SALC blade. Of course the cost difference might discourage them, but the...

  5. Advice on new racket

All such things are personal, to me H3 is a backhand rubber :P.
  6. Saudi Smash 2024

Anyone who plays enough and competes enough has at least one experience like that, especially when playing better player but overperforming for a period. One may not even be enough. That is why anyone who pretends that LGY is a serious choker just hasn't played enough.
  7. Is any current top player better than prime Ma Long (2015-2017)?

Passive is the last thing you want your backhand to be vs Wang Hao. Especially with that old ball that you could spin the heck out of.
  8. Is any current top player better than prime Ma Long (2015-2017)?

I believe it was more the use of softer sponge Hurricane in backhand as well as some grip modifications. But he clearly had issues rallying with WH backhand to backhand and I am still of the view that the ball changes made backhand blocks and counters easier to play.
  9. Is any current top player better than prime Ma Long (2015-2017)?

It's not easy to track things anymore since mytt lost a lot of its posts with a hacker attack on its main forum. But Ma Long did change equipment in late 2014 and revised his backhand grip and technique, partly in response to the plastic ball and prior results. Such details are easy to miss if...
  10. How much training and how to train to become a professional?

Think of it more developmentally. The correct answer to the original question is that there is no training that by itself makes you a professional, it is more a matter of combining exposure/practice with how well the student distinguishes himself in those settings to warrant being given more...

  12. Saudi Smash 2024

She played on a national team that had a chopper so absolutely terrified is a bit much. Han Ying is just hard to beat, she isn't the standard to be used when saying that someone doesn't know how to play choppers.

  14. Saudi Smash 2024

Yes, it is, but Quek is young and getting better, and is clearly a talent.
  15. Thoughts on Rhyzer Pro 50 and Golden Tango

I am finally going to give Tronix ZGR a go - not sure why one should prefer Tronix to Rhyzen for the ZGRs, but since someone a couple of people online I trust have given Tronix ZGR positive reviews, I will give it a shot.
  16. Advice against annoying style

The unfortunate part is he isn't even losing in a tournament match (doesn't sound like it), yet he has framed the situation in such a way that it will be difficult for him to get max value out of the experience of playing such an awkward player. You keep trying your technique with different...
  17. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

With the caveat that ratings are earned in matches, not in videos, and that ball quality and game speed isn't always easy to see, the feel I get watching your games is somewhere between 1000 and 1600, but more likely somewhere between 1200-1400. Usually, if you can push long to someone and be...
  18. Video Footage Safe Thread

Where are the loops that are easy to counter and block that you are complaining about? You play at a decent physical level, probably at least as strong as many of the commenters, there is nothing basic you are lacking in, everything is subtle things that may not give you the back for the buck...
  19. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Don't listen to what he is saying now, use the rubber for a few months first, at least till the end of July please, better till the end of the year - you need this for your development. The two shot sequences you are playing now are exactly what I have been begging you to play for a long time...
  20. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

It's an impressive shot, well done - it doesn't really make flextra fast, but it is an impressive shot. Are you using flextra on both forehand and backhand now?
