Why do you think I post my highlights and not the 99 other shots in the match I missed given the same exact shot from my opponent?

OSP, I remember you tried to smash my loops. What was your success rate?

My best shot of the day, I think was this 5th ball here. This is classical NL - terrible forehand form, no body rotation, shoulder power loop to win the point: youtu.be/6KWaT-ydPiI?t=830 I usually don't like to post rallies that I lose, but this one shows you the problem with playing a...

Thought everyone had forgotten... So I wake up on Sunday morning in the mood to do nothing. But I am feeling relatively okay if my knees hold up. I turn on my laptop and look at the club camera and see my temp student playing a short pips guy who he lost to on Monday I think. I called into...

When I play with overgrip, I know that a significant part of my hand, especially my index finger and thumb, is located on the blade face. Others may differ, but I find that I often don't wrap the higher parts of my blade closest to the rubber with overgrip in order to get some wood sensation...

Good stuff. Would relax more and try to make the ball go slower and with more spin. I know in your club you have all these chinese rubber counterlooping kids that will kill that ball once they break 2000, but in the real world, people block slow and heavy topspin off the table.

I just sent him a WhatsApp message so if he forgets, shame on him!
  8. China Super League 2016 (CTTSL)

A lot of stuff in the Super League is done to facilitate faster play so that they can stay within a reasonable TV schedule. Tennis is looking for ways to adapt to such demands and I expect at some point that table tennis will also follow suit. The 7 point decider is interesting and fun and...

Not that subtle - How many people use FX-P on the list? I just find it amazing that such a high level player uses soft rubbers.

I was a fan before, but I am a nut after.

I played Nam twice when I was 1800 or so - won a game I think both times, but the first time, I had an out of body experience and was killing him until I woke up... I lost to Naveen the only time I played him in a tournament I think when I was 1800 or so, though I can't see why you would lose...
  12. Dwell time

I don't think anyone called it "magical" - the main point is that there is a quality of contact which should be found and reproduced. Since I have gotten better at serving, I am not so sure that actual speed doesn't matter - my impression is that there are more efficient ways to produce that...

    1. Many people have had the idea, but you can actually test aspects of it at home using Audacity. 2. Yes, it may not. Science has many example of such things. But sometimes, the differences (mostly imprecision) are overhyped and the areas of agreement much downplayed. It's like pointing out...

He clearly went back - he has started pushing from the forehand side with the backhand again.

Am I the only one who thinks this is one of the best matches of the year and forgives "Big Fatty" for wearing his heart in his mouth for the final set?

So I went into the club today to support my students who were playing. An underestimated reason why students have good strokes but play poorly is that they don't have their coaches around to teach them match strategy in real time. The coach who helped me break USATT 2000 often traveled with me...

It is high throw, especially on drives, but compared to T05, it is not as good for spinny looping or as high. The main thing is that both rubbers respond to relatively similar looping technique. The thing though is that I really like T80, so I am thinking that if I had to go to the Evolution...

I was going to warn you but decided it wasn't worth it. I do play with T80 nowadays so I can say that high throw angle is not everything and is actually a negative for me against many players. But MX-P is definitely more of a drive rubber.
  19. European Championships 2016

This was the second stage after many had gone through in the first stage. But yes, those are the things I remember when I think of Lebesson.
