  1. Walking the Talk: My drop shot collection 60fps

You are a 2000 level chess player. In TT Terms, we can compare what you did to taking a game off a 2400 player - it's good, but bragging about it is not what most people would do. 1 minute chess is like a gamble because people people aren't using their full chess abilities. Now, if you can...
  2. Walking the Talk: My drop shot collection 60fps

It's probably good for your temperament to have infinite self-esteem, but let's just say that I am not that impressed.
  3. Rio Olympics 2016 (Team Event)

There are so many youtube videos on the internet. XX vs a chopper is always humiliating.
  4. Pick your team to beat the CNT

    How you like me now?
  5. Rio Olympics 2016 (Team Event)

Mizutani!!! Xu Xin is going to unleash Atomic RP Backhand loop!
  6. Rio Olympics 2016 (Team Event)

Three bad serves and he still won the game! Go, Jun!
  7. Problem boosting rubber

Softer may be all you need. Why not just play with the damn thing and stop asking questions that will never get you the answers you need?
  8. Yasaka Sweden Extra

I haven't had any issues with it, but I don't seal my blades so I have never thought seriously about the question. Sorry for being unable to really help.
  9. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Not necessarily. You can argue with the higher level player in search of the logical answer. What Archo is doing is not uncommon - many smart players do a version of this -you can only get away with it if you have a coach who is of the kind of intellectual temperament that his answers suit...
  10. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Bullseye. The concept of purely grazing the rubber is a useful misconception - how would you project the ball forward if you didn't have impact with the wood, even when serving? You just experiment with degrees and get to a point of acceptance. But getting too theoretical will not do anything...
  11. Rio Olympics 2016 (Team Event)

Just look at the difference in mastery of the rally between Dima and Boll. The old school players know how to move choppers around. The new school just try to kill the ball as often as possible. The Chinese just make everything blurry.
  12. Rio Olympics 2016 (Team Event)

I may be wrong but I will always trust Timo vs. chop. He just plays fundamentally well.
  13. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Let's assume you are right - where did you get the concept of overloading the topsheet from? I have only read that precise phrase on one website and I have never seen a very good player discuss it. In any case, please take your stuff elsewhere. Chit chat is for chit chat, not for Archo's new...
  14. Rio Olympics 2016 (Team Event)

No one uses pure power - it's just a myth. But the best guy against chop by a mile is Xu Xin. I think LGL didn't want to bore Chinese viewers with Joo vs XX and he wanted to challenge Ma Long and ZJK with the first two matches. They both delivered in the end.
  15. Rio Olympics 2016 (Team Event)

He should be using Bluefire M1 Turbo but he is stubborn and loves Tenergy. Dima's forehand acceleration is tremendous. There aren't many people in China if any with more powerful forehands. BTW, I am being silly here.
  16. Rio Olympics 2016 (Team Event)

Two smart returns to the forehand. Dima realized that the forehand is less dangerous from the forehand side. Dima does it. Lee Sang Su feels encouraged...
  17. Rio Olympics 2016 (Team Event)

Dima can do it too - he just doesn't have the right equipment and he hasn't practiced with Joo as much or read him as well. The new ball has also reduced some of Dima's leverage.
  18. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Part of the problem, Archo, is that you read a lot and you try to sound like a good player. You need to realize that good players rarely if ever speak about these things. If someone is supposedly overloading the rubber, their stroke is wrong. It's that simple. It's why I laugh when people...
  19. Rio Olympics 2016 (Team Event)

Joo has switched to No-spin and Dima is not reading it.
  20. Rio Olympics 2016 (Team Event)

None of it is going to be insightful to a high level player. It's just whether it is technically correct and conveys the right sense of wonder about what is going on. And I think they have done a good job of that in what I am seeing if it is the same guys that NBC is using.
