  1. Rio Olympics 2016 (Team Event)

That is now my favorite ZJK match of all time and is also one of my favorite matches of all time. The score in the final two games wasn't really close but the way ZJK acted, you would realize how seriously he took the challenge. And he came out to play doubles too - other people may say ZJK...
  2. Pick your team to beat the CNT

Jung Youngsik (vs Ma Long), Dima or Mizutani (Vs. Xu Xin), Liam Pitchford (Vs. Zhang Jike). I could also switch these players around but I believe these players can do it, though I may have to sub out Dima if he has to play Ma Long and replace him someone else or just put Mizutani vs Zhang...
  3. Stiga Eternity VPS - anyone has it? any reviews?

In some ways, yes, but you have to try it for yourself to know.
  4. Rio Olympics 2016 (Team Event)

Keep making up things. Those guys did not qualify by ranking for singles, but for the team, those guys could have been selected as the third players if their teams really wanted them. Everyone sent their best team. We saw how Oshima choked vs Sam Walker.
  5. Rio Olympics 2016 (Team Event)

So you really wanted him to use Joo in doubles? Joo was the 3rd highest rated Korean and was selected over Jang Woojin. And for good reason too - Joo has not lost a singles match yet IIRC. The team is designed to give people trouble and accept that it makes no difference vs. the Chinese.
  6. Rio Olympics 2016 (Team Event)

LGL is kind - not fielding Xu Xin in the first two games because he wanted to give Joo a fighting chance?
  7. Rio Olympics 2016 (Team Event)

Jike will retire from CNT when he wants to. No one is going to retire anyone who fights like that when the chips are down.
  8. Rio Olympics 2016 (Team Event)

    Jike is a beast!!!
  9. Players Complain about the Poor Quality of the Ball Used in Rio!

Anyone watching Zhang Jike and Jeong Youngsik can see the amount of missing because the ball did not bounce properly.
  10. Rio Olympics 2016 (Team Event)

The thing about Jike is that when the going is down, he gets more consistently aggressive with more and more spin. Nothing like it.
  11. Rio Olympics 2016 (Team Event)

    Yungsik is just a machine.
  12. Rio Olympics 2016 (Team Event)

    Jike is just a beast.
  13. Rio Olympics 2016 (Team Event)

Boll is much slower than he used to be. It is obvious. Mizutani is also playing faster. It takes a certain confidence to stay at the table and take Mizutani's power. If you notice, Mizutani is almost jumping every time he plays a forehand topspin now. Boll is no longer fast enough to...
  14. Rio Olympics 2016 (Team Event)

Yes. I am not sure why people are blaming Rosskopf. Anyone following Russian league knows that Mizutani has been beating Dima and Samsonov recently - he has even joined their team to prevent Orenburg from having any serious competition in Russia now. So changing order would not have done...
  15. Stiga Eternity VPS - anyone has it? any reviews?

As far as I know, the Legend flared is a pink elephant. Here is video of my play - I am the bald guy. I don't find general claims about blades and playing styles useful as it is really more about how one blade compares to another. What I can do with a blade may be low level compared to...
  16. Stiga Eternity VPS - anyone has it? any reviews?

The thing is that Yogi bear's review pretty much mirrors my thoughts so I feel it is redundant to write something extensive. It plays in many ways like a Stratus Powerwood but with a more handle driven balance because of the smaller head size. The outer plies are coated limba. The blade is...
  17. Stiga Eternity VPS - anyone has it? any reviews?

http://mytabletennis.net/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=75650&title=stiga-2016-blades-updated-with-review The ones I have are heavy (94g) and play well.
  18. Players Complain about the Poor Quality of the Ball Used in Rio!

Any ball can be good when you don't seriously compare it to another ball. The DHS ball has improved from the crap it was 1-2 years ago. But you just have to play with it next to a Nittaku to see the benefits (better grip) and the demerits (too soft and deformable, lower bounce).
  19. Players Complain about the Poor Quality of the Ball Used in Rio!

I like the Joola Flash - good seamless ball. For me, the most important things are hardness and bounce. The main thing I don't like about the seamless ball is that it slows down faster than the Nittaku Premium and thus refutes my celluloid instincts sometimes but that is life.
  20. Rio Olympics 2016 (Team Event)

There were enough slips to go round, Fukuhara in the doubles especially, and Ito is too young to remember such. I can serve better than those last two serves that Fukuhara did at 2-1, 9-9 in the 4th game. The last one at 9-10 was the kind of thing you see in a club when after the serve, the...
