  1. Rio Olympics 2016 (Singles Event)

You made specific comments about Achanta's and Aruna's forehands being not correct because they don't finish across the body as much as you think they should - you can disown these comments now, but that is okay.
  2. Rio Olympics 2016 (Singles Event)

Yeah, sure - the Timo who the Chinese tell you to never imitate his forehand. On a more serious note, stop trying to read too much into a statement that was directed at someone who knew what I was talking about.
  3. Rio Olympics 2016 (Singles Event)

I never brought race into this - I was speaking to someone who knew exactly what I was talking about based on specific comments he had made in the past. But since you brought race into it, I am happy to hear you are a fan of good table tennis. IT would be sad to be posting on this website if...
  4. Rio Olympics 2016 (Singles Event)

Yes, the Aruna with the supposedly inferior forehand technique. You have a problem with that?
  5. TTX is what the 4th August is all about - the new revolution of table tennis!

Why would the ITTF associate itself with something like this??? It would be like FIBA trying to regulate playground or one on one basketball.

The point always begins with serve and serve return. If an opponent is unconventional, those things become far more important for you to analyze and dictate. If you do the right things, then you may never see the unconventional strokes. If you treat those things as simply trying to put the...

I just looked at the Westchester results. That kid in the video, who lost to me and a 1700 player, comfortably beat a 2050 and a 2100 player, a 2100 player that beat me comfortably. It's just a warning of what happens when you try to engage certain players directly with fast heavy topspin and...
  9. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

You may be surprised but that was actually Evolution FX-S. A silly story but I didn't use the rubber for any other match but that one.
  10. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Rich can loop before the match starts. The only way you look own how someone will play you is by playing them.
  11. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I have played him 4 times I think with this match. I know his style. He is a young and powerful looper who puts too little value in consistency. It wasn't a strategy. I had already played three matches. I was warmed up. I was not in the mood to be picking up balls for someone else who would...
  12. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

A kid that has a funky all round game with a very heavy push that I used to miss read. He used to push (or really chop) my no spin serves and I couldn't open on them given how I was reading them. I think where we played constrained his game a little. If we had played in the main hall, I would...
  13. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

By the way, the beginning of this video is an example of how I deal with someone who doesn't want to use warm up strokes to warm up in a tournament match.
  14. Rebulding Fundamental strokes for my game play

I love it. So many learners get bored with the basics so they try to complicate the basics to keep their interest. Siva the Jugaadu, for all your mastery of Jugaad, self-hitting is recommended so you can focus on what is important and stop dealing with variables like moving, tracking the ball...
  15. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Played Westchester today and played a lot of fun table tennis. Still need to do some work to set up my attack better and I also have to do work on my pushes. The actual attack itself is satisfying more often than not and I think setting it up is what I have to work harder on. OR just learning...
  16. Is Ma Long alcoholic ?

I think I actually have come across someone making such a suggestion in an academic context, but that is neither here nor there for me. Group statistics do not predict individual behavior.
  17. Is Ma Long alcoholic ?

Then delete your response and stop trying to one up someone based on your inability to grasp his point. Edit: I should go to sleep, ignore this post.
  18. Is Ma Long alcoholic ?

I think the claim that genetics has *nothing* to do with addiction is a very bold claim, ttmonster. Alcoholism had an abuse and social dimension as well. Just taking a drug on a regular basis is not quite the same as being an addict.
  19. Tibhar Evolution EL-S and FX-S

That review is the kind of thing that makes me hate reviews without a player's style and level next to the review. Claiming that the arc of MX-S or MX-P is higher than EL-S can only be true if power looping at high speeds with deep contact.
