DTopSpirit,
Pnatchwey is a firm believer that since you go against the spin when looping topspin, the situation would be an apples to oranges comparison.
BTW, last off-topic post - today, I told my first coach that I beat Rich DeWitt and he walked over and shook my hand with congratulations. Just to give the uninitiated an idea of who Rich is in US TT circles.
Since you are all my buddies on this website, let me give you a fuller explanation of what happened in that match and my technique.
As many of you know, I have bad knees and rheumatoid arthritis as separate, co-incidental and co-operatively destructive phenomena. My style of play was more...
Brett, on TTEdge in the LTT series, after diagnosing your subject's stroke, you usually prescribe an action plan to fix it. While I know this series is more focused on looking at shots, is there any action plan you would prescribe here for Andy?
Oh, PNut calls me wannabe because my first degree is in engineering. And he says I believe in the tension fairy because I agree that speed glue effect rubbers like Tenergy should be correctly called high tension rubbers for trying to replicate the speed glue effect, even if they do not curl up...
I id use sweat too but the salt is not good for my rubbers so it's purely an emergency thing and I clean the rubbers immediately after the session . My point is how PNut likes to start with the abstract math with little respect for strong factual considerations. The attitude is interesting...
Classic PNut - still trying to apply low grade physics to complicated TT problems.
I remember last year that PNUT was trying to explain to haggisv why he should be able to clean his tacky rubbers with sweat using PNUT logic, even though haggisv had specifically ruined a tacky rubber doing that.
OK - then use whatever your coach recommends. It makes no sense asking people who have never seen you play what a good blade for you is. In my experience, people who use blades as fast as the one you have chosen develop bad habits, but if your coach is okay with it, then use what your coach is...
I'm PNUT,
So what whut
I can't stop,
Cos I won't be stopped
It's the jugger PNUT
Mad, Crazy, Nutty
Sill taking y'all for a loop,
Killer of spin, got my Newgy,
30 or 25, oh, shoot!
If you really want to improve, get a slower OFF- or ALL+ blade. It's a common mistake to get fast blades before developing good technique and your current blade is much too fast. Do you have regular coaching? Any special reason you need such a fast blade?
Looping Backspin vs. Looping Topspin
I would like to discuss this pretty quickly - in general, when using inverted, why can you consider yourself to be adding spin to the ball in many situations when you loop topspin even when you are going against the spin?
It's basically a unique property of...
I heard through the grapevine that sunflower oil might be very good. I am not sure what Kailin oil is made of. I currently don't boost but the temptation is calling...
I can return chopped balls with my bare hands. It doesn't prove I can loop or attack them consistently with my bare hands. It doesn't prove I can loop or attack them with my bare hands as consistently as I can with Tenergy 05. Do you get the difference? If not, that is why you are...
Only in your imagination. People have repeatedly told you how we prove someone is generating topspin that is keeping the ball safe. Your inability to consistently clear the net shows that you actually missed the ball until you adjusted for a fixed spin ball. Therefore, in a real match, your...
