  1. Wang Chuqin loses to 14 year old!

There is a reason for it - he pretty much relies on his serve for easy wins and didnt really develop a lot of his other skills unlike say Ma Long or Zhang Jike or Fan Zhendong who had to fight and learn a lot for their results every step of the way. He is like the guy who took shortcuts and is...
  2. Why do I suck at Table Tennis?

My goal was to reassure OP that when he thinks that he sucks, in reality we are all in the same boat.... I think if someone takes a lot of offence to that, they can simply choose not to hear it, or maybe choose to dial down their ego a bit, either works...
  3. Why do I suck at Table Tennis?

What i mean is that it is not a big deal to 'suck' at the game. Ultimately we all are here because we enjoy the game...
  4. Why do I suck at Table Tennis?

But well, we all suck here if that is any consolation. There's always a ton of ppl better than us unless your name is Ma Long or Fan Zhendong
  5. Why do I suck at Table Tennis?

Focus 90% of your efforts on serve and receive. The point starts there, not in the topspin counter game.
  6. DOWNFALL OF TABLE TENNIS, WHILE PICKLEBALL IS GAINING POPULARITY STEADILY.

Solution is simple, we should stop recommending double inverted to beginners. Just make it easy by introducing pips or anti. Otherwise serve receive is such a huge pain for beginners that they would just be turned off.
  7. DOWNFALL OF TABLE TENNIS, WHILE PICKLEBALL IS GAINING POPULARITY STEADILY.

Yes, agree that double inverted is the masochist way of playing TT. Anti or LP is just so easy to play, dont need such advanced spin understanding to play
  8. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

i think the coaches really drilled it very hard this year, he has improved leaps and bounds in those 2 areas. Also he doesn't just go crazy with the BH loopkill anymore, it's a lot more controlled and much less unforced error prone.
  9. Is butterfly overpriced

Yes they are super overpriced, but what can we do? Theyre the only game in town which has 1) high performance without boosting which is a pain for most amateurs. Cant say the same about Hurricane for eg 2) Much longer durability compared to ESN When ESN or DHS manufactures a high performance...
  10. Badpington 😅🏸

Tbh this could be fun if played on a larger court with nets at badminton height level etc... it would literally be one of the world's hardest sports. The ball really curves hard in the air!
  11. Is this forehand topspin technique in the video for both top and back spin half-long serves?

There is no such thing as 1 type of contact for all balls unless the opponent's spin levels are much lower than yours and you can easily overpower it by brute force. But the basic structure should be the same like what is taught.
  12. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

Tbh at 8-4 up. Ma Long just really needed that final burst of energy and really, he could have just paced around in the court to waste time to regain his strength. But no, he's just too much of a fair player....
  13. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

Ma Long getting tired again.... now it's the final few points. Let's see what tricks he has left in his bag, or is LSD just gonna outlast via better endurance lol
  14. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

Not sure why Ma Long dropped in intensity so much in the last 2 games. Fatigue??!
  15. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

Yeah, a bit surprising that LSD is actually quite good in the short game, must have been some serious short push training with the coaches. He actually doesnt really favour the chiquita so much even as a BH dominant player - this is quite interesting.
  16. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

Yep I saw that, but that doesnt mean he cant chiquita, and Ma Long aint gonna serve long all day long. Even if sometimes you take the chiquita a bit later you can spin it a bit more. He is losing hard in the short push - 1st attack battle against Ma Long. A bit of inexperience there imo... But...
  17. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

LSD needs to somehow simplify the game to get an advantage over Ma Long. Just way too much complexity. Just chiquita as much as possible and get into a topspin rally ASAP. This cat and mouse push + opening loop game is what Ma Long loves. Unfortunate that LSD doesnt have a coach this time...
  18. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

LSD looks a bit lost against Ma Long's variations...
  19. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

That is why I said at this current time, not at other times (where you are correct that Ma Long has been quite superior to FZD)....
  20. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

To be fair, his skillset was a lot more limited when he first burst out on the scene which is when ppl were saying these things. His skillset has really grown tremendously. If you pitted current Ma Long over say 2009 Ma Long, current Ma Long is probably much stronger lol.
