  1. Around the bottle challenge!

;) I'm practicing tonight, so will see if I can get some video as well!
  2. Around the bottle challenge!

It has to be exactly 1/3 full!
  3. Brand New TT Club in Sacramento USA Forum Meetups?

I know this discussion has happened before - But I have no idea why a whole load of you don't set up a local league to run 7-8 months of the year like we have in the UK. You could then utilise each location, and it would generate more interest! I feel Der_Echte would be the man to lead this......
  4. Searching team to play.

Looking good mate! You'll struggle to find advice here which will benefit you massively in my opinion. Good luck finding a club - We have plenty of room in our UK club if you fancy a longer drive :)
  5. Searching team to play.

Hey Villus..... If you put some video up on YouTube, there will be PLENTY of people offering advice. Look forward to seeing it!
  6. Ideas for an ideal venue?

It's hard to see from the video, but it looks like a lot of low level seating - I'd rather have higher seating closer to the table. Alexandra Palace does a decent job for the World Champs of Ping Pong. It comes down to number of audience members - I'd rather have a small venue full with 2,000...
  7. Ideas for an ideal venue?

Yeah, I think the OP was thinking more along the lines of the top 32 players in each Country who compete in their Nationals. Happy to stand corrected if I'm wrong - I think the US in unique in the participation it gets at their National Championships.
  8. Ideas for an ideal venue?

I actually think the Copper Box ticks a lot of boxes for a venue. You are never going to have somewhere which is small enough for "Nationals", but large enough for events like the World Cup. As I said in the other thread, you'd be better off giving away 1000's of free tickets to schools and...
  9. Butterfly Garaydia Series Discontuned?

How weird. I've just spoken to Tees Sport (UK Butterfly Distributors) who have confirmed it's now discontinued across Europe. Anything they have will be sold (which is why it's still available to buy), but no more will be made and they aren't in the Europe Catalogue.
  10. Should Paul Drinkhall get a bye into the quarter final??

To answer the original point - No. No one should get a bye through any rounds in an invitation only event. If people drop out, then yes..... Starting from the top, you can put the top seeds through the first round. Moving onto the "CopperBox attendance fiasco". For those of you outside of the...
  11. Butterfly Garaydia Series Discontuned?

Interesting! I wonder why they have taken them out of circulation in Europe. Here is the 2018 blade matrix
  12. Butterfly Garaydia Series Discontuned?

I know it’s still available from third parties (assume whilst stock lasts), but it’s not in the Europe Butterfly catalogue?
  13. Butterfly Garaydia Series Discontuned?

Just looked through the 2018 catalogue and it seems they are no more! Anyone have any news on it? Or are they still available elsewhere?
  14. European Players & Tacky Rubbers

I listened - It's still a completely irrelevant analogy to make. To summarise...... Persson is saying that "With Mercedes being the best team in F1..... They aren't going to tell the other teams what they are doing, and they will keep their advantage". He's referring to the Chinese H3 which no...
  15. European Players & Tacky Rubbers

The whole Formula 1 argument is irrelevant. If you want to continue with that train of thought, you should consider what he said "I'm not sure we would be able to use it anyway". So to carry on with the pointless F1 analogy, that's like saying "Even if Alonso was in the Mercedes car, he...
  16. European Players & Tacky Rubbers

Ding ding ding (not Ning..... but the sound of someone nailing it). This is everything anyone needs to know - If someone ever asks about H3 better than Euro/Jap rubbers, just copy and paste that. It's very misleading to have Pro players say that the Chinese H3 is "better" than what they have...
  17. European Players & Tacky Rubbers

I've just listened to the Gauzy piece on the "magical" Chinese rubber...... I have to say, I don't really agree with him. For starters, he goes from saying "it's better, and we don't have access to it"..... To saying "even if we did have access to it, we might not be able to use it". That's...
  18. World Team Cup 2018

I have to disagree here - LGL would be amazing to have as an analyst after the match - Heck, give him his own hour long show to analyse the different matches. But to listen to as a commentator..... He talks too much, and distracts from the game. Experienced players might benefit from the...
  19. European Players & Tacky Rubbers

I agree it's frustrating people can't get the same equipment as the Chinese National Team (hell..... I don't know why DHS don't just make them all Blue sponge and then no one would know!) But the same can be said in Tennis - You pick up any "signature" racket, and it will be a million miles...
  20. European Players & Tacky Rubbers

Yeah, the one thing I hope people get from this is to try it! H3 (Hurricane 3) is genuinely really cheap - Give it a try and see if you like it. I personally think an amateur at a high level will be able to adapt quite quickly (weeks rather than months - Providing they are training 2/3 times...
