  2. Improving Third Ball Play After Service in Table Tennis

Yes, in my 3rd ball attack drills with other ppl that I do, these recovery reset footwork patterns led me to be almost in place for all their returns, my winning percentages off serve went from like 60% to 80% against the same partners. I'm still shadowing a lot of these patterns even now.
  3. Improving Third Ball Play After Service in Table Tennis

Furthermore, to execute 5th ball attack, one most always recover and reset back to ready position after the 3rd ball, otherwise you'll most probably be prepared for one scenario and if the other happens - you're pretty much stuck with using arm only power which is a big no no in table tennis...
  4. Improving Third Ball Play After Service in Table Tennis

The recovery footwork after serve (weight transfer during serve and use that to rotate your body into the ready position with both feet landing at the same time by the 2nd bounce of the ball on your opponent's side) is crucial to execute 3rd ball attacks against all returns. Furthermore, you...
  5. all roads lead to Rome...

I'm part of the younger gen and none around me play golf lol, it's a sport for old dudes. That said, TT is also becoming a sport for old dudes :( Most young ppl are into stuff like badminton, tennis, football, surfing, gym, etc...
  6. A couple game videos, help me return serve better

Wow you block like a wall  there's quite some Kenta Matsudaira vibes I'm getting here haha. I think if you want to be more aggressive on the serve receive, the footwork has to be really on point and you need to lean more forward into the ball (throw your body weight into the ball) during...
  7. A couple game videos, help me return serve better

which one of the players are you?
  8. "wrapping" the ball.

It's funny how brokenball still insists on his hypothesis even against the mountain of scientific papers and video evidence directly contradicting his position. I don't know any engineer worth their salt who does this (not in my profession at least).
  9. Next step to improve: flicking the serve return

Yes it's this one. I think I came across this phrase of "creating a mountain" in the stroke for the chiquita for the first time when I watched this. Later on I applied this concept but using the upper body to initiate this "mountain", this made chiquitas against even very heavy underspin viable.
  10. Flicking with Fastarc G1

D05 is even better than T05 for chiquita haha. On good days I win just straight up by chiquitaing/flicking/looping everything if they're not used to the spin lol
  11. all roads lead to Rome...

Guy is an ex Chinese national team member though...
  12. Next step to improve: flicking the serve return

Yep, precision in which part of the ball to contact is extremely important in the chiquita. For me underspin = left bottom, topspin = left top, no spin = left back. If it's from reverse serves then it's the same contact points just more to the left, if it's from standard pendulum I contact much...
  13. Next step to improve: flicking the serve return

Isn't that just the chiquita :)
  14. "wrapping" the ball.

Lol I give up with brokenball and James Z here, they are impossible to have normal conversations with at this point.
  15. "wrapping" the ball.

Spin direction is relative. If you rotate the swing path of the hook loop by maybe 45 degrees you get the "wrapping" topspin. I can do both of these and it's all about the swing path and where I contact the ball.
  16. "wrapping" the ball.

Lol I put that because if you understand how to generate heavy topspin contacting the bottom of the ball, you will understand how a perpendicular contact can still generate heavy topspin and is not necessarily a flat hit.
  17. "wrapping" the ball.

No - you can wrap around the top of the ball similar to wrapping around the side in a hook loop. In fact you can even generate strong topspin when contacting the bottom of the ball, as long as you roll it forward. This is the modern looping technique. Tangential contacts are very prone to timing...
  18. "wrapping" the ball.

With the "brush" part, you need to imagine "rolling" over the ball after the "crush" (ie strong hit). The dwell time is less but the dwell "distance" is a bit more. Coach is missing a lot because he lacks practice, but if he practiced it a bit more he will land it the majority of the time...
