what is a 38mm ball? never even heard of it lol :P
  4. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

@JeffM I think you have the same problem I have - not recovering well after a push which causes problems in attacking the next ball. After a push you stay there and go back in 1 big step, instead of using an intermediate step. Especially against weird players you need to adjust your feet all the...

Dude the quote is "This is the way" 😂 clearly not a true Mando hahaha
  6. Primorac carbon with Hurricane 8-80

Lol didn't think about that... yeah I'll try that for sure 😁
  7. Primorac carbon with Hurricane 8-80

I'm actually already using Hurricane 8-80 38 deg for FH, for BH I'm currently using D05.
  8. Primorac carbon with Hurricane 8-80

I think you have to boost Hurricane 3 for optimal performance otherwise the sponge is way too dead, while Hurricane 8-80 does quite well without boosting. Both are equally tacky and spinny imo, the sponge is the biggest difference. I'm lazy af to boost so for me it's Hurricane 8-80.
  9. Primorac carbon with Hurricane 8-80

No, I like my current setup, it's just a way for me to save cost (Hurricane 8-80 being way cheaper than Dignics 05) lol... But maybe you're right, I could even go double Hurricane 8-80 on Viscaria (38 deg for FH, 37 deg on BH). For me spin is much more valuable than speed, but it can't be too...
  10. Primorac carbon with Hurricane 8-80

Just theory crafting because Dignics is way too expensive, what do you guys think about Primorac carbon + Hurricane 8-80 37 deg on BH and 38 deg on FH. Would this work well for a standard two wing looping game? The idea is that the Primorac carbon provides the speed, while the rubbers provide...

I watched it live too, the last game came down to the wire (Ding Liren had 1.5 mins where he refused the draw) and was super exciting!
  12. WTT Star Contender Bangkok 2023

I hope someone has recorded the full matches in a good angle. I saw some on 247tabletennis
  13. Bounce with the Ball / Split-Step

For the 2nd clip, you could also try out the intermediate step back after the push. I've been incorporating it in my practice and games (I'm getting there), and it really works wonders. I found that I'm in much better positions to attack or defend after the short ball receive after I started...
  14. WTT Star Contender Bangkok 2023

Why is WTT going back to this shitty angle despite everyone complaining about it?!
  15. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

You can use the lifting of the elbow to produce sidetopspin, and also as a fake movement to trick opponents into thinking that it's sidetopspin. So you can go in with elbow slightly lower and then lift it as part of the serve movement.
  16. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Yeah he makes the arc look similar too - the backspin is served faster and a bit higher, the topspin is served slower and a bit lower. I guess the acceleration is definitely a tell - you can't really hide that. I need to train my eyes to watch it more intently like a hawk!
  17. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Yes that's what he does - he serves backspin higher and topspin lower. I also can't rely on the bat angle because he can also serve sidetopspin with the flatter bat angle. From my perspective, if the force is directed downwards, the only way topspin can happen is if the bat angle is more towards...
  18. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I observed him playing with another guy and he was also winning a lot with this serve. I could read it easy from the side or back angle but not when I'm looking from the front angle. The biggest problem is that there's an exaggerated followthrough with throwing the elbow up (which makes it look...
  19. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Yes. Also it's my fault coz I taught him how to disguise it and control the length better, now I can't read it myself 😭 the worst is because it's mostly short to half long to the FH. If it's too long the FH short receives (flick, fade, long/short push) don't work very well, and I'm forced to...
  20. Hiding Contact Point?!

It's fairly easy, if you take away your left hand, and you serve with your shoulders perpendicular to the table, you can't be hiding the serve (there's literally no mechanism to hide it). Also it's legal to hide the bat before and after contact, only the ball needs to be fully visible at all...
