Take “pingsunday” with a grain of salt… The important thing is that your combo in the beginning is not too fast and not to spin sensitive that’s all. The rest is up to personal preference that a beginner has not developed yet. Cheers L-zr

Tibhar sound is a very soft rubber, what comes to mind as a step up would be FXS. However I do not like Tibhar one bit… Go to their manufacturers homepage, they have good descriptions there. Use google to search if you do not have a link. Cheers L-zr

I suggest going easier on BH. There is a huge difference between Stiga Pro and Stiga future. The lack of speed is probably most due to technique anyway. I had the same problem and the rubber was just a small part of the problem. Cheers L-zr

Forget about VOC glues, modern VOC free are milder. The best thing You can do to avoid splintering is to remove old rubbers from side to side, see my post above. The second best thing is a thin layer of lacquer. Cheers L-zr

I have said this in many threads but here goes again. Always strip the rubber from side to side and NOT top to bottom. The reason for this is that wood is stronger across the grain and on a blade the grain runs from top to bottom. Cheers L-zr
