In general, thinner sponge = better feel/feedback to the blade = better control. Of course thinner sponge = less power. I find 1.9-2.1 mm is good enough to create decent spin. ~1.9mm makes it hard to generate spin. My FH is always 2.1mm H3. I find 1.9mm or 2mm the sweet spot for BH.

Oh I didn't know he used T05. A few years ago his BH was lightning fast. That makes sense
