  1. Is Truls the new Waldner??

Certainly, that is, in terms of innovativeness and willingness to use unusual strokes in high level tournaments. But, as BRS said, a few more years of winning said high level tournaments before Truls can truly be the new Waldner.
  2. Dignics 09c in cold weather

I certainly would not cycle in temperatures below 5DegC. I've seen too many accidents caused by black ice. Playing TT in 10 -12DegC might seem too cold but I've found that the body warms up pretty quickly. Not the best conditions, but again the problem is that sometimes ice forms on a concrete...
  3. Dignics 09c in cold weather

You Americans are grown to be such softies..............Anyway, I don't believe you. If you had to play a league match or something you'd adapt. I have seen NFL games on TV where the game is played in very awful conditions and the stands were full of spectators
  4. found old STIGA Hans Alsér B47 offensive - from grandpa.

Sell it. Don't break it. With the proceeds, you can buy a new bat with new rubbers and still have change, better economics.
  5. DAN GOES TO WAR! | TableTennisDaily Team | TTDSL 2021 Ep 3

The video production continues to improve. That veterans team were all very solid players who were high ranked in England in their prime. No wonder that they performed so well.
  6. What is STIGA Cybershape?

This blade in my mind is very similar to those larger face blades that sort of splay out at the forward end Eg old Barna Hardbat, Matsushita etc. The Matsushita OFF allows for great control. But with 2x sheets of inverted is too heavy for the attack minded player. So is mostly used by defenders...
  7. Knee injuries - how many of you have?

With my particular knee complaint, I've found that using shoes that are not too grippy puts less stress on the knee.
  8. The most Waldernesque of today's players

I agree but would put it slightly differently. Every young player has to go through the stage where, in a tournament, he beats the players that he's supposed to beat. It's a mindset that I've never understood, and the top players have never been able explain how they did it.
  9. What is STIGA Cybershape?

Easier knife control; As a full asylum-committed EJ, this looks interesting. For one thing, the rubber fit should look neater. The scissors or knife control will be easier because of the straight edges 😏. However, achieving a good rubber fit to the blade after regluing and re-installing...
  10. mid price blade for tenergy05

Butterfly Viscaria. With the prioce of top level Bty blades, Viscaria is now mid-priced
  11. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

One of those slow motions of Fan leaping sideways and striking the ball when both feet were off the ground. Phew!
  12. Vodak 4APC King

Thanks for the review. I've tried it and like it a lot.
  13. The most Waldernesque of today's players

Who these days plays with the most varied style whatever the importance of the match? I began following Zhou Qihao about a year or so ago thinking that he was a fantastic new player with his 'try anything' style. However, it was explained to me that he is of the same general age as Fan Zhendong...
  14. Hinoki outer ply

Plus those are the brands that sponsor the most players. That is my guess from my viewpoint of the circuit.

  18. Table Surface Thickness

Yep. I said 9x5 so was thinking in imperial measurements🙄
  19. Table Surface Thickness

There are basic ITTF specifications (see law 2.1) for tables. But any table is good for club/home play as long as it adheres to the 9x5feet regulation. Thickness and material is arbitrary. The top rated tables in the old days were the Jaques of London versions. The best ones were around 30mm...
