  1. Coached vs un-coached player

Not formally coached. But older players would have given advice to the youngster, yes.
  2. Coached vs un-coached player

Yes and no. More lack of matchplay. They have just started to play again since the pandemic restrictions were put into place last year. Plus, they are both full-time University students, so not much training.
  3. Coached vs un-coached player

Luke Walsh is the dark clothing while Dan Moses is wearing the light blue shirt. Interesting clash of styles with Dan using strokes, that would pain a coach.
  4. Russian guy learned serving from a Japanese. Well done.

The really nasty one is where the server's action looks like a normal cross table, pendulum serve. But he hits the ball with the backside of the bat causing the ball to swerve away down the line. Sadly only about <50% chance that the serve lands on the table and impossible to perform under match...
  5. Frictionless Anti players

Good. I am closer to 70yo than 60yo and have now started using a low stance. Not as low as yours of course. The reason is purely to acquire more fitness from playing TT. It's fun so far (except for a little PITA☺) and I am really tired afterwards, so it must be working 😎.
  6. Frictionless Anti players

Sorry, mate. You have a very low stance when you are in your ready position. Thus you must have very strong leg muscles.
  7. Frictionless Anti players

The OP must have some strong glutes😃 Any particular exercise that you do?
  8. How to remove glue from old blade

    Plastic ball, I assume?
  9. Ebony Blades ?

Every now and then the posters on here amaze me with their knowledge😊🤓
  10. Viscaria weight - FL

Funny, I erased a comment about body weight also slowing you down but the kg part stayed in my head😁
  11. Viscaria weight - FL

In my experience, overall bat weight does make a difference the longer that you play in a session. Say that you are in the 3rd singles of a team match. The other 2 have been stressful 5 game affairs. In the 3rd game that extra weight, say >193kg, does slow down your hand/arm speed. Of course...
  12. Review: Vodak M. Horejsi EnTech ALC OFF

Reference the VODAK 4 APC King Stiff + Spin Off. It's interesting that they it has 4x carbon layers in a blade that's 6mm thick. Yet it is (presumably) still within the '85% wood' rule.
  13. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Controlled shot making Old man at work can sometimes move at decent pace. Watch Timo vs Irvin Bertrand at 07:56
  14. I never knew to both chop & block like this before

    Bryce HighSpeed probably.
  15. Chinese national team using custom blades?

Some players are very finicky about about blade weight and balance coupled with general handle shape/fitment. Within reason, for the very top pros, the blade maker will build blades made to their specifications. Otherwise, players can choose from a batch of blades and some will even visit the...
  16. The CHOer gets owned in the Etika Tourney

I think the the OP was referring to the fact that this normally cho-centric player (when he's winning) was moaning and groaning for each lost point. Thus he's still very vocal but 'Cho' became 'Aargh'
  17. Besides table tennis, what hobbies/sports do you do in your free time?

Love dem valves. In my teenage years during the late sixties to early seventies I used to build valve amplifiers. A couple sounded very good.
  18. Testing Butterfly's Most Expensive Table Tennis Blades!

All you Americans, please note that it is pronounced, Super 'Zed' LC.
  19. European Championships 2020

Sales of Primorac Carbon to get a big boost? Or was it proof of the capability of Dignics 09C to bring back the touch and spin game to table tennis?
