  1. Balls hitting the edge of the racket

Fine tuning strokes after a bat change Not too sure about that. Some players never get used to or need much more time after a bat change. Whether it's because of grip change, weight, size or whatever, the general fine tuned handing is may take longer than expected to achieve. This lack of...
  2. would a Ryu Seung Min survive in today's table tennis?

Amazing how some posters underestimate past players Every generation of sports fans thinks that the players of their era are the greatest ever. Consider Boll and Samsonov. They were top players from the late nineties and still are. Ok, give Sammy some leeway because of age. The point is Boll...

  6. Can we tell how popular TT is

organising a tournament and promoting a tournament are 2 different things Table tennis in its present form is a sport for its participants. To get spectators and TV spot, many influential participants won't want the changes that would be necessary. Eg. Snooker and Darts before Barry Hearne were...

But not unbeatable Rather than employing the usual wham-bang-pow style, a clever player using a crafty technique can get results.
  8. World Ping Pong Champion vs TableTennisDaily's Dan!

The TT rules for equipment have resulted in players (at top level) basically use gear that have the same basic characteristics. I remember a few years back when Tenergy was really popular, at least 70-80% of players at tournaments were using it. The rest were using other brands that more or less...

  12. Ma Long's first match since his injury - 2018

Big camera At 0.55secs, couldn't the organisers come up with either a much smaller camera at the table or place it more unobtrusively? As the cam is clamped (I think) to the table, I assume that the ref will rule before the start of play that it is part of the table.

Where is our environmental awareness When you say 'hazards issue', I assume you are referring to the celluloid's flammability. How about environmental impact. Forum wisdom is that celluloid, when disposed of, breaks down over time unlike the plastic/ABS balls. Maybe ITTF should demonstrate its...

  18. Swedish Open 2018

Agreed. Even in small UK, organisers strive to keep players from the same county apart in the early rounds. If not, the players complain vociferously that they have paid x amount and traveled y miles to end up playing their teammate. Internationally, the players and spectators agree with the policy
  19. Butterfly Tenergy 05 Hard

My personal bat weighs 189g. The TBS ALC with T05R/T05H felt about about the same weight. However, the owner said that the T05H is heavier than the T05. By how much, I don't know.
