  1. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

So I've been trialing the Rxton 7 37 on my BH this week. I've had 2 sessions this far with it. It basically plays like an easier to use H3 37. Relatively soft, a bit slow, fairly high arc. Much easier to hit into and has much better hand feel than the H3. In match situations it's the same as...
  2. Loki RXTON 9 new sponge.

I have one coming in a few days as well, ordered it from Aliexpress as Alibaba didn't have it until a few days ago. I ordered the 37 degree one for BH. I'm trying out the Rxton 7 37 for BH right now and it's a really good H3 37 replacement. Much more clear hand feel, similar hardness, plays...
  3. Loki adc special vs dhs w968

So just an update, I've now tried 2 additional blades, the S968 and the LJK ADC Special S-series. The S-series I got feels quite different from the R-series. It's even more outer feeling than the R-series, but it doesn't have as much power or dwell. Note that my R-series is also heavier, at ~93...

Got a batch of LAC for me and my clubmates to try out.

I'm working next Fri, but Saturdays in the future will work I'm sure!

It's really in both. Try doing a looping motion with your back straight, then again with your butt sticking out and the whole upper body leaning forward, you'll find that the stroke naturally becomes less upgoing and more forward going. Then there's second part of my adjustment, the loading on...

Just had a training session last night with my regular training partner. Feels like I'm making some sort of breakthrough with this forward lean, it's like a simple but major piece of missing puzzle, especially for my FH. I've added a bit of additional tweak to my backswing as well. My coach...
  8. Zyre 03 2.5 mm Vs 2.7

Golden Vis, LJK ADC special, and Donic ZJK. I think I tried both thickness on the Donic ZJK, but only the 2.5 on the Golden Vis and only the 2.7 on the LJK.
  9. Zyre 03 2.5 mm Vs 2.7

No. I actually didn't feel that much difference between them in general.
  10. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Oh yeah, I'm discovering right now that he key to going forward is to maintain a forward lean, so I'm working on it now! In fact, I just had back-to-back sessions with my 2 training partners tonight. This was the first training session with the focus on maintaining a forward lean, and I feel...

I'm definitely not tall lol, I'm the Asian guy in blue shirt and black shorts, wearing a headband. I guess I am taller than my opponent in the first video, but a lot shorter than the tall white guy I played against in the 2nd video.

Later on he stopped challenging my FH with longer serves and stuck to a FH short/BH long pattern, which eliminated a lot of easier points. Also, yes, he did become more aggressive against my services. Even as I adjusted by serving shorter he flicked a lot of them. I also seem to have an issue...

Looks like someone recorded a good amount of the local tournament I played in recently. It captured the first 2.5 sets of my last singles match. Unfortunately it didn't catch the last 2.5 sets which I lost, so not great for analyzing my weaknesses. There's plenty to work on there, but I think...

I don't recall DHS and 729 posting PSAs, most of those older Chinese companies are terrible at engaging customers so it'd be kind of out of character for them to actually clarify something lol.

    1) Hardness almost always refer to just the sponge, and my understanding is that many manufacturers create their own scale, so they don't even correspond to any Shore scale. As such, IMO what's important is comparison between rubbers, not its absolute measurement. With my durometer, for...
  16. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

That hasn't been my experience at all. I use a Shore C durometer, which IMO is the best for TT rubbers because other tips are too thin and there's too much variation depending on whether you're pressing on a spot in between the pips or right on top of the pips. Because of how thin TT sponge...

Recorded my practice session again, and I'm pretty pleased with the changes on both sides of the ball. FH loops now hip initiated, and there's no longer any over rotation. There's also no more hooking the ball so no more side spin. For BH the right shoulder is no longer elevated, and timing is...
  18. GAN reviews Rxton 9

I just tried a Rxton 9 national, with the usual boosting, and my impression is pretty much the same. The shorter arc is immediately noticeable, many even hit the net despite leaving the racket at a similar angle. The hand feel is more clear especially at lower power, feels like it's easier to...

The "regular" Rxton 9 (provincial and national) are MUCH better than the Rxton pro. They actually feel kind of like H3. They bounce off a bit quicker and throw noticeably shorter, and they still have that slightly "thick" feeling, I think because the sponge is 2.15mm instead of 2.1mm.
  20. DHS Inner Carbon Blades Comparison: Sun Yingsha, Wang Chuqin, Long 5 & B2X

All else is not the same though, and W968 and Q968 have the same ply thickness for all layers. IMO there are definitely differences in the composite layer. Some have suggested different carbon density and different weave directions.
