  1. FS Yasaka Dynamix - 17 layers of pure power

11 wood layers and 6 carbon plys! That sounds very close to the 80% wood rule. But I assume Yasaka know what they are doing.
  2. Am i allowed to manipulate my hand like this during the serve?

We will need to see a video. But any twisting of the hand during the throwing action will raise suspicion in the umpire's mind that you are spinning the ball. So by your description; a hand twist plus non-vertical ("thrown to me") toss sounds like 2 counts against that serve.
  3. Hardbat set up (UK)

Simple. Friendship 802 OX rubbers and any wooden blade. Preferably a blade that is on the heavy side but it does not really matter. Players of yore seemed to prefer a large blade, but I notice that even the Barna series got smaller in the sixties and seventies. So a normal blade of today would...
  4. why P balls are about twice as expensive ?

I played a summer league team match last night using XSF balls. We changed the match ball twice before we found one that had any sort of decent bounce. I think that Nexy must have some arrangement with XSF to get balls manufactured with stricter QC. The fact that we got one that was way better...
  5. why P balls are about twice as expensive ?

XSF has a true bounce? We must have different batches or something. The only P-ball with a true bounce or bounce that is consistent similar to the C-ball is the Nittaku premium. Every other ball that I have tried has a relatively inconsistent bounce.
  6. Korea Open 2016

I only saw the highlights. Did they shake hands at the end?
  7. why P balls are about twice as expensive ?

Capitalism, Cost of doing business, cost of production, cost of distribution, greed, profit taking, opportunism. Take your pick.
  8. My trick serve to fool confuse opponent with Backspin and Topspin

Nice serves. The first thing the observers here at will say is that they need to see you in a match against the strong players. It may be that your recovery isn't good enough. Also, the second bounce tends to be very short. Strong players will use that predictable element against you. Try and...
  9. Zhang Jike and Ma Long training HD

At 00:12 MaLong stops to examine and check the ball even though he has hundreds to choose from.
  10. Butterfly Tiago Apolonia ZLC Blade Review!

Where is Miguel? Miguel! I have a new blade for you.
  11. Dimitrij Ovtcharov vs TableTennisDaily's Dan! 1 set showdown!

sometimes it's not nice Very good players simply serve you down and hit or place the ball past you. No issues. The level above that is as Baal says. I am like a bystander, I see what's going on but it's as if I am frozen in my stroke play. Once I hurt my shoulder trying to adjust to a an...
  12. Dimitrij Ovtcharov vs TableTennisDaily's Dan! 1 set showdown!

Dima was lucky. If it wasn't for that edge ball, Dan would have made a better comeback.
  13. Blade with alot of vibration?

What is vibration? Vibration: Zeio and Baal together gave a good explanation on MYTT Zeio: Try the same combination on an all-wood blade and you will see. Arylate filters out certain ranges of vibration, mostly the high frequency ones from my experience, and those that do pass through die...
  14. Zhang Jike Blades vs Timo Boll Blades

True. I never thought of that possibility when I made the comment.
  15. Please Stop Doing This

A similar situation is when people start talking to you, requesting answers even though you are in the middle of a match. But I shouldn't complain as I have been guilty of this :-)
  16. Please Stop Doing This

I honestly believe that many people cannot judge safe distances whether in TT or on the road. Have you ever noticed how many drivers cannot keep in lane when going around roundabouts.
  17. importance of physical preparation

Izra, you are absolutely correct in what you are saying. Coaches know all this but TT is largely a recreational activity even to the best amateur players. Look at how out of shape even top amateurs are. These same 'best' players over time have developed a minimal warm-up technique that keeps...
  18. How do you politely tell someone you don't want to play with them?

Be choosy and play with those who think will improve It's hard to give advice when each club has its own culture. If you are not a national rising star, you are probably not as good as you think you are. Most players will improve over time, maybe years so the player who you graciously give your...
  19. Same rubber on both sides for offensive players

Using the same model of rubber on both sides should be a table tennis rule.
  20. Which poly ball should you choose?

The Bty balls here tend to be slow and difficult to spin (compared to 40mm) but have consistent bounce. The XSF is a piece of crop compared to Bty or Nittaku. The bounce of the XSF is so inconsistent. I sometimes see players push at incoming backspin and the ball bounces over the opponents bat...
