  1. How well do stuor/lemuria clones compare to the real versions and how good is their quality/longevity?

All STUOR blades I´ve tried so far were close enough to the originals in build quality and characteristics (whenever possible I double-checked with an owner of the original, and no-one ever complained). Considering what you have to pay for the originals and still could end up with a dud, STUOR...
  2. What’s the difference between these 4 Haifu boosters?

Probably, but more might mean more expansion and thus problems with racket control. I just didn´t think the national booster was some kind of radical miracle cure for the price, but players with more experience in using different boosters quite probably don´t agree.
  3. What’s the difference between these 4 Haifu boosters?

On the Seamoon packaging it says elasticity to increase by 6%. If I remember correctly, on the white national booster it said 8%. My shop sells the white national for about four times as much as Seamoon costs me when I order from China. Easy choice.
  4. TAKING ON TABLE TENNIS LEGENDS! | TTD Team vs Butterfly Legends

Pretty cool event. So Maze with Franziska blade and two Dignics05 - what did the others bring? Rumour has it Primorac normally doesn´t get near a Primorac Carbon but always preferred Boll Spirit while Schlager played with Primorac Carbon, not the even faster Schlager Carbon - but that may not be...
  5. Hybrid MK FX

The principle - soft Hybrid - is the same, yet DONIC uses the sponge of the Acuda S2 for the BlueGrip and I´m not sure whether TIBHAR also uses an existing "old" sponge for the MK series.
  6. Hybrid MK FX

I´ve played with a factory sample of this several months ago. For me, the decision between this and an Evolution FX-D depends on whether you like the reduced catapult of Hybrid rubbers in general or not. The advantage over harder hybrid rubbers is that you must not play every ball in an active...
  7. Stiga S5 vs Butterfly Tenergy 80 FX

I agree with both. Balsa, while being light, is great for direct action like blocking and countering, but not for an emphasis on spin. And that Yasaka blade is just excellent. Paired with Rakza at that price it´s a no brainer. It will be heavier than your current racket, but better adjust now -...
  8. Stiga S5 vs Butterfly Tenergy 80 FX

    Very likely.
  9. T05, what hardness?

    Himself.
  10. T05, what hardness?

Unfortunately they don´t. Exclusive to the Evolution series the hardness rated is the overall hardness of the rubber. There was a huge discussion about this on a German forum where an insider then explained this, and from that point on it´s been denoted in the catalogue (but not on the website)...
  11. Rasanter R53 for FH or BH?

Sometimes, despite all knowledge and theory, it comes down to that.
  12. Rasanter R53 for FH or BH?

It does. The R53 even has a different sponge (Energy Cell), but feels somewhat easier to play than R50 with the regular sponge.
  13. Andro Hexer Duro Rubber

Both. First, it wears its name proudly, because it really is very durable. And then you might say it does everything, nothing particularly well, but then it also has no obvious weaknesses. Not too bouncy, not too fast, but several steps ahead of classic rubbers like Sriver etc. - really an entry...
  14. Joola Karakasevic

Like with the Tibhar and also the GEWO and the Killerspin before it the emphasis is on feeling and spin over speed. Acceleration is in his hand ;-) Softer touch than TB ALC, probably closer to Freitas due to the Limba outer veneers, but I have no reliable experience with the Freitas and after...
  15. Joola Karakasevic

The only constant is change ;-) TB ALC seems like a fallback option, but there were many others, among them Donic Original (then Ovtcharov...) No.1
  16. Joola Karakasevic

After contracts with many different manufacturers over the years the great man has finally signed with Joola a while ago. Now they produced a signature blade for him.
  17. Rosewood/Walnut, help

Between these two, I´d blame the weight. The rubbers are of course different, but you both have rubbers with 47,5 degree sponge on one side and a softer one on the other. Since I don´t know the Intensity I´ll leave the rest to someone who does.
  18. I'm stuck between Andro Treiber Z and Butterfly Primorac Carbon. Any thoughts on which one's better for me?

Generally, the quality of ANDRO blades is good. The quality of the new Korean made SYNTELIAC blades is exceptionally good. Both Primorac Carbon or Treiber Z could be a bit demanding for rather casual play. Which blade are you are playing right now, that would help to recommend for a suitable...
  19. What is the actual thickness for popular tensor max sponges?

It means that they are open about the variations that occur in the production of any rubber. Sometimes the 1.9 version of one rubber might actually be thicker than the 2.0 version of another. There are also variations in sponge hardness, as indicated by Victas on their site. They state hardness...
  20. Faster equipment doesn't always mean less control. (Viscaria/Intensity)

But of course. The direct ratio between speed and control (less of one means more of the other) is way too simple, but it has been learned and propagated by the industry, not least via graphics on blades... My own definition of control is "the best support for what you intend to play", and you...
